Those of us who grew up in abusive households are not doing great with everything feeling like this.

This presidency feels like an abusive household.

i feel like the viral bus thread resonates because at every step of the way you're like "ok surely this will be resolved shortly, any second now," which seems like what all the passengers are also thinking. then the fact that the situation doesn't resolve and the bus just keeps going is an Allegory

I’m the one in the brown hat. What you might not see is the victim in the car. His feet are pointing out the open car door. An agent is sitting on one of his legs. He’s only wearing crocs. Bystanders found his legal work visa in his abandoned car. #AbolishICE

Elliott Payne@elliottpayne.org

This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.

When people write Posts like this On this site. I can't help but Read it aloud, dramatically, like poetry. Seriously. Why do people type out posts like this on this site? Is it a Twitter thing I don't know about?

I will never forgive the people who refused to cut off their Magat family members after the Dear Leader was elected the first time. All I heard was "it's my mom" "my dad" "my brother" "my grandma". Well now moms and dads and brothers are getting kidnapped and executed in the streets.

Hope it was worth it to keep seeing Uncle Bubba at Thanksgiving, instead of making it social suicide to be a Magat. They got away with it for ten goddamn years, enabled by people who preferred to be polite instead of standing by their supposed beliefs.

The picture of a glove box stuffed with plushies and a blood-covered steering wheel is haunting me. She was just a mom. She had kids. And those kids will grow up knowing their mom was fucking butchered. Butchered by a male who shot her in the fucking face because he knew he'd get away with it.

I don't want to die in my car with my wife next to me because some Nazi shot me in the face, and the fact that I would even have to think about something like that is genuinely fucking insane.

if you just change the chorus of bodies by drowning pool to “let the body keep the score” and nothing else the whole song still works quite well, maybe even better

really tired of seeing claims that our illegal kidnapping of the Venezuelan president is to "distract" us from the Epstein files. Trump and the men around him have wanted this for a long time. this is a bad thing in its own right, not some attempt to hide from accountability

My grandma always used to tell me that you can't stick flowers in an asshole and call it a vase.

I further put forward that we be allowed to be a little bit rude about it. look what the obsession with civility has gotten us. if a person is being hateful or saying something untrue, you should be allowed to get a little bitchy if you need to!

my plan to get this country back on track consists of one bullet point: i propose we stop pretending stupid people arent stupid just because theyre loud and theres a lot of them

At this point I have no sympathy for people who piss and moan about the evils of Twitter while still having an active account on the site. Like, why in the absolute and unholy fuck are you still there? It's actually incredibly easy to leave; I did it five years ago and it took five minutes total.

Some health experts are saying that *it* could happen in the March to May timeframe. I hope it's the Ides of March, so I can say "Et tu, Tupée."

The most important lesson I've learned in this wretched year is that it takes a crazy amount of strength to choose to be gentle in a country that demands violence in every interaction.

Hot take, but as soon as anyone refers to something as "slop," I immediately have no interest in that person's opinion, even if I agree the thing in question isn't great. It just feels like incel talk and a way to dismiss anything YOU don't personally love.

only in america could you have people applauding a fascist for saying “fuck you fascist pedophile” to her equally fascist boss and somehow see that as a win for democracy
