Great article about the greatest show on Earth, or one of its rogue moons. And I’ll be at the Philly show!

This song needs to be updated every six months, maybe three. I will gladly sing the 4,000-hour version.

Sam Altman said people are just gonna have to die in order to implement AI. In the very same week, Anthropic claimed it’s a human rights violation to be mean to the computer. These people need to be held accountable. They think lines of code are a person with rights but living people are debris.

The Verge@theverge.com

Over the past year, Anthropic has repeatedly flirted with the idea that its AI models could be conscious in some way. In February, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said on a podcast, “We don’t know if the models are conscious.”

So much this! Con man gonna con, bullshit artist gonna bullshit. Trump is both. It worked in ‘80s NYC real estate, should not be the standard now.

If a sentence in your newscast starts with “President Trump says…” you’re failing your audience.

🧵One important thing about right-wing culture that people who have never been a part of it don't get is that to most Republican loyalists, their religion is America. They truly believe that the country's creators were directly inspired by God. To write critically of the founders is blasphemy.

This is very good

So you just learned about the AI cult, huh? Here is the longform explainer you need to make sense of the very, very strange ideas driving tech policy in 2026. Buckle up, it’s a wild ride. www.techpolicy.press/what-policym...

Yes! Yes! Yes! This is also my petty complaint. Also, if you’re indoors, you do not need the windscreen. Come on, people!

If the mic is that small, pin it the fuck on. I cannot take this tiny mic holding phase one bit longer. Y'all look ridiculous.

MORE EXCITING NEWS: I could be among the “many others”! But the “absolutely hilarious” part is totally true!

Mike Sacks@mikebsacks.bsky.social

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!! My new comedy audio is called “The Return of Sno Topp,” and it’ll star Chris Elliott and his real-life daughter Bridey as his fictional daughter. Absolutely hilarious and so great together. It will also co-star Lauren Adams, Jon Hamm, Rhea Seehorn, and many others. 2027.

Here’s your daily reminder that when you go to cast your ballot in November please vote all the way down the ballot. The further down you go, those races really do get closer to your front door and ultimately your wallet. Let’s turn these laboratories of autocracy back into democracy.

This girl I used to waitress with in Austin, we moved to New York together in 2003 on a literal Greyhound bus. Shared a fifth floor walk-up studio that, when it rained, had more leaks in the ceiling than we had pots and pans. We used to get drunk and smoke off the fire escape and do “sad-offs.”

There is a possibility that my voice may be heard among the hilarity. Even if not, this will be very funny. IS very funny (I read the script)

Mike Sacks@mikebsacks.bsky.social

Next year, @thesonarnetwork.bsky.social will release a brand-new audio comedy that I wrote to star Chris Elliott about a former white rap star from the early 1990s. In the meantime, if you haven't yet heard Stanland, also from Sonar, would you give it a listen? It's free! www.stanlandseries.com

Again, it’s only about money with Trump. “Lose your shirt,” re: windmills, as if the point of energy is making money. NATO is about money to him. Stop asking him questions, start holding him accountable.

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

Trump: "When I see what's happening to Europe it's very sad to me. They have a problem with immigration. They have a problem with energy. You have windmills all over the place. Windmills, you lose your shirt."

This is useful but also: the Dem response to tyranny is…read a bunch of books? Yes, knowledge is supposedly power, but I’m thinking we’re closer to the torches in the streets moment. (Yes, I’ve protested, yes, I will read the books, but I want more.)

A reminder that people who know anything about politics -- what the parties are, what they stand for, their record, who they've elected, how government works -- are a freakish minority. Most people know *nothing at all* past the vague mythologies that sift down through pop culture.

The two people who are breaking through the noise and cutting through to the essence of what is happening right now with deeply damaged Donald Trump are Jon Ossoff and Hunter Biden. Here is Hunter's very perceptive take on the messy scene at the White House Correspondents Dinner:

It’s not easy to recognize you’re in a revolutionary moment in the middle of one. The Founders certainly didn’t all at first. Neither did many at the outset of the Civil War. But we’re in one. We have to be willing to embrace big historical change Happy 4th www.liberalcurrents.com/democrats-ne...

I worked at an ad agency that had the Pulte Homes account. We’d make an ad in the morning then be told that the price went up, make changes, then the price would go up again. Their houses were suburban sprawl garbage. #BillPulte
