Bobcat Golthwait has a great story about covering one of his actors in cinnamon and cocoa power to simulate grime and shooting in the woods. "I effectively turned my actor into a bear cruller"

Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping played at B Scene this evening at the same time that The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black played at Tompkins Square Park so had to split the difference and see most of both shows.

Twenty-douche year old at table next to us at dinner and belittling his girlfriend, her family, her community and her peoples' homeland in the pseudo-wokely way liberal art degree white boys do best. Bit my tongue until he condescendingly patted her cheek like someone pats a dog.

When they got up to go I caught her eye and said, "he sucks. You should dump him. He disrespects you and I hope you figure out you can do better or he figures out he can behave better because you seem really nice" She said thank you. He didn't say shit.

Went to a comedy show tonight and during crowd work a lady was asked what she does and she said marketing and the comedian asked her how she felt about AI stealing her job and she said she works in AI marketing and the way everyone in that room turned on her in that moment 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

Started strong with vegan dinner at Caravan of Dreams. No food photos but the raw vegetable ravioli was crazy good. Thin sliced pear sandwiching a nut ricotta with gezpacho sauce. Never had anything like it. So good.

Ok folks I'm taking the train down to NYC tomorrow and I'll be in the city for a week. Open to vegan/vegetarian restaurant recs and weird shit to do.

In The Big Lebowski, the ashes they dumped out of the coffee can were the actual cremated remains of Steve Buscemi.

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

Today is Vermont Libraries Day, the first annual, signed into law earlier this year. There are 183-ish public libraries in Vermont, the most per capita of any US state. Hannah Miller has been to all of them. They are all locally funded. This is the logo. At least we are not using AI. 😂 📚

A minor work by a famous artist that I would eat like that scene out of Red Dragon.

question for the audience: if you were ultra rich (let’s say $25M), what completely frivolous thing are you buying?

I'm kind of bummed that our governors race is so close because I really wanted to vote for the 14 year old who is running. His platform isn't atrocious and his party logo is... stunning.

Earnest response, I was a little freak that couldn't regulate my emotions and impulses, so pretty damn early. Fortunately I developed a sense of humor and a knack for making friends with other weirdos so I've always had my people.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: This sounds like a joke question, but it isn’t. If it doesn’t apply to you, fine. But it’s a serious question with different levels of meaning. And I am genuinely curious. When did you first realize you were weird?

Times it's okay to use speakerphone in public 1. To have a messy breakup 2. To ask about someone's weird medical thing 3. To ask experts things about my specific special interests for me because I have phone anxiety
