Dear Europe, If any of you tie your military or economy to Elon Musk, then you're also giving Elon control over the OFF switch. You can see what happened in Ukraine when Elon turned it OFF. People died. Be smart. Go domestic. Avoid all things Elon Musk.

Water is not a dumping ground. It was good to meet Matt Staniek of Save Windermere during the EFRA committee visit and hear about the fight to protect our waterways. We must hold water companies to account. But ultimately, public control of our water must be the way forward.

To answer your question Mr Lowe, I do. His name is Nasser Hamid. He was 16 when he left his village, to escape Sudan's civil war. He could not speak English. Look what he achieved! I admire his courage, resourcefulness and intelligence. All qualities sadly lacking in... certain people 🤮

There may be an explanation. But the trail raises a legitimate question about what was declared on his election paperwork and the actual use of the property at the time. Given Arundell's extensive property interests across Boston, it's a question worth answering.

In the movie about his close connections to Deripaska, Lebedev, Epstein and Thiel, Bill Nighy would be a brilliant Mandelson

The Mandelson/Lebedev/Deripaska connections get more and more disturbing the deeper you dive

Burnham must be watched carefully. He seems to have no scruples at all about claiming the credit for the great work of his predecessors. He seems to be reluctant to provide attributions, or tardy at the very least.

PS If you make a request at your library that they stock one of my books that’s a brilliant thing for me. It makes it available to many many more people who would never have known it existed.

Someone said to me, "I'm sorry but I got your book from a library." Nobody should ever apologise for that. You read my book! That's brilliant! I grew up hanging out in libraries and the idea of a world without them fills me with dread. Without libraries, authors, like readers, will only suffer.

The three of us have put out over 300 episodes, as well as holding down a day job each. All of it is put out completely free to absolutely everyone. Imagine taking to the keyboard to abuse me, because five minutes of a single episode didn't do it for you. WTAF is wrong with people.

A £5 million donation may suit Nigel Farage, but transparency isn't optional - whether you force a by-election or not. The Government is introducing tougher checks on those trying to buy and sell our democracy.

This is what imperialists always do. They claim to love their country. They feed its people into the machine.

The average life expectancy of a new Russian recruit—from arrival at a training ground to death in a combat zone—lies somewhere between 10 days and three weeks. Which of us is really the villain here, sir? You, refusing to help a stranger in need, or me sipping from the straw in your iced latte? I guess now that I’ve been asked to leave this train we will never know.

With England's World Cup campaign kicking off tonight, I want to give a huge shout out to East Manchester's own Nico O'Reilly! He's had an incredible season, including his heroics in the League Cup Final. He's a very well deserved young player of the year. Come on England!

It’s hard to believe it’s 10 years since my friend, the amazing, Jo Cox was murdered. I will never forget that moment nor the time after it. It’s still hard to compute. That such a positive, impactful, caring, inclusive woman could be taken in that way for doing her job as an MP, still shocks.

This is sad news. Roy Hattersley, best known for being Neil Kinnock’s deputy leader, shaped the Labour Party and British politics. He was a giant of our movement and of that generation of politicians. I met him a few times and he was always kind, thoughtful and full of sound advice. RIP.

I was surprised to see a chart on BBC Verify yesterday - www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... - highlighting that “defence spending has fallen as welfare spending has risen”. It didn’t look quite right to me so we took a closer look....⤵️

Today Labour passes the Steel Nationalisation Bill. British Steel is coming into public ownership. For generations, previous governments left our steel industry to die. Capabilities declined. Production fell. Communities were abandoned.
