The powerful executives who cozied up to Trump didn't oops accidentally forget about pendulum swings. They either: 1) Like the fascism 2) Calculated it was here to stay, so going along was savvy 3) Saw no real downside, no consequences when the pendulum swung Crucial to show them 3 was a mistake

Remember: Wealth cannot be separated from power. We're seeing in real time how the extreme concentration of wealth is distorting our politics, rigging markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of people. Taxing the rich isn't just an economic issue, it's a defense of our democracy.

A (white) dude got so angry that I merged into rush hour traffic in front of him that he raced ahead of me, cut me off, and braked. Then as I moved into the next exit lane, he laid on his horn and gave me the finger. I am not an aggressive driver.

on October 14, a black bear entered the Mammoth Lakes Library at 6 am. it was the 100th anniversary of the publication of Winnie-the-Pooh. the bear went directly to the employees' food supplies. i know what you're thinking. the answer is yes. he ate a pot of honey. this was a pilgrimage.

facebook.com385K views · 119 reactions | On the very day the world marks 100 years since A.A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh was first published, a black bear made its way inside the Mammoth Lakes Library branch of the Mono County Free Libraries before opening hours — and, in a tribute no one asked for, went straight for the honey. Director of Libraries, Josef Bopp, shared that the bear entered the library at approximately 6:10 a.m, well before public opening at 10:00am. Upon entering, the bear went straight for the staff snack supply, where it helped itself to peanut butter, a selection of peach cups, a pawful of cookies and — of course — one jar of honey. Satiated, the bear then took a full tour of the library, perusing the new releases and inspecting the reference desk before, evidently content with its visit, letting itself out and departing for the day. Remarkably, no damage was reported. No shelves were toppled and no books were harmed, though the honey jar has not been returned at time of publication. “While we love an enthusiastic patron, and we understand the excitement of the centennial,” said Bopp, “we do remind patrons- and perhaps more importantly our bears- that snacks are not part of the circulating collection.” Winnie-the-Pooh was first published on October 14, 1926, introducing readers to a “Bear of Very Little Brain” with a very large appetite for honey. One hundred years later, the timing of the curious bears visit seems more than a coincidence. The library invites the community (human members only) to celebrate the centennial by visiting any of the seven #library of the #monocounty Free Libraries for a copy of Winnie-the-Pooh, or related bear titles! *On A Serious Note* Pooh may be cuddly, but #mammothlakes bears are wild. Residents and visitors are reminded to: • Keep a safe distance and never approach or feed a bear • Use bear-resistant trash containers and keep car doors and windows closed • Report bear encounters to Mammoth Lakes Police 760-932-7549, option 7. Or 911 in an emergency. As Pooh himself might say, it’s best to think, think, think before getting t | Mono County Free LibrariesOn the very day the world marks 100 years since A.A. Kinda wild that there have been wild protests going on in Albania for months set off by a corrupt Kushner luxury resort project and there has been barely coverage of it here 🇺🇸 and Trump never gets asked about it.

300,000 tons is the equivalent of 93 million gallons of diesel. U.S. daily consumption? 160 million gallons. So 13-14 hours’ worth. Won’t really move the needle on prices in the market.

It's clear the plan is to blame Ukrainian refinery attacks for high gas prices, and portray Trump as working with Putin to save both nations. And the only way to stop the barbarism is to vote GOP in November. It's breathtaking in its cynicism, and it won't work.

You've probably covered this elsewhere, but have you honestly considered that maybe the charts you focus on are not the ones that are fundamentally driving people's economic sentiments?

What is the point of this? I thought we cared about human dignity and rights, even for convicted criminals?

Alll of this. I started my career in construction, working office jobs alongside people who worked trades. Know how many 60-year-old guys I saw working as bricklayers? Doing demo? Zero. How many 50-year-old roofers there are? Zero. One reason unions fight for high wages is because careers are SHORT.

This is why I get pissed off when anyone accuses me of being an elitist when I say young people should go to college if they can. I say that because my dad was a local lineman and contractor who did heavy physical labor for years and has had chronic back pain since his early 30s

Let's get back to the main point of the hearings, Jack Smith said he would've found Donald Trump guilty of all charges if he was allowed to prosecute . That's what I want y'all to remember. Jack had the receipts. He would've won a case against Donald Trump.

NCAA Recruiting visits are just 48 hour long interviews. Maybe the team won't penalize a recruit for playing or scrolling on his phone during the visit, but why risk it? Just put the damn phone away! There's no downside to putting away the phone and showing interest in the program.
