While I’m away for two weeks Nia stays with our local dog whisperer, whom she loves and is loved by in equal measure. It’s like summer camp for her, endless adventures with a few of her best friends and sometimes making new ones, as here.

It was a an idiotic target, even within his thinking. They have more to lose by seeking to fold than to gain from placating him. There is no ‘deal’ in it for him.

The fucking idiot in the White House picked the wrong fight. BBC is not backing down. This is amazing.

NEW: Remember when John Oliver opened a church to expose how easy it was to get tax exemptions? This year, ProPublica reporters set out to establish private schools to test if, truly, anyone could open one. We founded two. Here’s how.

propublica.orgHow ProPublica Reporters Became Private School Owners in 24 HoursThe reporting experiment demonstrates how easy it can be to open private schools that might then access public money. No credentials or background checks required.

I think it’s important that we remind ourselves daily that the hypocrisy is the point. We never cease to be amazed by the projection, the inherent contradictions and the whataboutism of the right, but it’s far more easily understood when you realize the content is not even the point, the fuckery is.

The Pentagon is notifying millions of current and former U.S. military servicemembers and staff that hackers stole their *unencrypted* personal information during a months-long data breach. The agency that had the breach also handles ID and login/credential access to U.S. military systems and bases.

This dog owner turned himself into his pet's favorite toy, and the reaction was pure joy. Dogs know their toys by shape, color and smell, so seeing their human become one is priceless.

It boggles my mind that this is legal, and cannot understand how a population can accept it. That there isn’t a general boycott of any store engaging in this is even more difficult to comprehend.

Mayor Wilson, Councilmember Foster, Councilmember Saka and I are teaming up to ban surveillance pricing at grocery chains in Seattle. Surveillance pricing is a harmful practice where your data is weaponized against you to price gouge. (1/2)

I can’t be the only one who has noticed massive power outages happening much more often in only predominantly Black populated areas in red states at a time when those particular areas are having their power grids strained by data centers. PAY ATTENTION.

Mad Max Maverick Miller is a worse husband than Mel Gibson, but if he knows what women want, he could avoid an Apocalypto this November. With Trump's military misadventures starting to look like Gallipoli, even not-so-braveheart Dems may have found a lethal political weapon. by Maureen Dowd

Quality propaganda isn’t screaming in your face, it rather presents something you cannot disagree with, while including the important notes, that, if repeated often enough, stay with you and become the norm. Invasion became “conflict”. Stolen kids by invader are described as “separated”, and so on.

‘Israeli settlers’ is far too kind a description for people who are in reality; murdering, land stealing religious extremist cnuts supported by the state of Israel.

AIPAC, probable Kompromat as well. They obviously have him by his tiny balls, besides him being a worthless empty shirt corporate shill from day one of his political career to begin with. I would say he has sold his soul but he never had one.

Normally I just appreciatively read @jamellebouie.net 's columns-sharable video content just isn't my bag. But this is a very, very, very trenchant piece of commentary that captures a lot of how I increasingly understand the disjunction between the commentary environment and on-the-ground politics.
