Bit of this, bit of that. Security Architect. Always trying, often failing, to be a better person. Tech, InfoSec, football (MCFC), beer, two kids, one cocker spaniel (the nobhead). Priorities not necessarily in that order.

Yesterday some holiday makers got their hire car stuck in the sand on Rossnowlagh Beach. & then the storm came... 🤭

What’s with the increasing trend of websites allowing you to sign in to a site using an email link rather than a password? Email account security is now more important than ever. If your email account is compromised, every site that uses email login is too. MFA the shit out of everything.

I’ve seen a lot of players in the blue shirt over the years but none make me smile the way David Silva, SWP and Phil Foden did/do. There have been “better” players but those three are incredibly special for pure joy.

Took him out for a walk. He refused to budge and has now taken root on my lap. Spaniels are both the most annoying and incredible dogs, often at the same time.

On holiday in Wales next week so OF COURSE the weather forecast is grim. And you know what? I don’t care. Just get me away from the real world for one week, that’s all I want.

Turns out our incident response team can’t access the “Critical Services template” used to issue notifications about service issues. Looking forward to the email: “We can’t notify you of a service issue due to a service issue” We really are in a lot of trouble as a species.

“City’s fault”

🚨 Mikel Arteta on staff job losses at Arsenal: “I was explained it’s been done with intention always to evolve, to improve”. “Some decisions have to be taken to put people in the right roles and keep investing to achieve what we want to achieve and the success that we want to create”.

City v Ipswich was the first game I went to at Maine Road. Unfortunately it was in 1994 and the game was abandoned on 39 minutes. I should’ve learned a lesson then, shouldn’t I?

At a risk of being overly dramatic, I can’t help but think it’s only a matter of time before a blue gets physically attacked, not necessarily at a game, because of all the rhetoric and vitriol being stirred up by our beloved media.

Touchscreen MacBook Pro Could Launch on November 6

macrumors.comTouchscreen MacBook Pro Could Launch on November 6Apple is planning to introduce new OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro models on October 27 or October 28, and the machines could launch on Friday, November 6, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said during his latest podcast. Apple retail stores apparently have a "big floor reset" scheduled for the evening of Thursday, November 5, and into Friday, November 6, which Gurman says could be in preparation for the new Macs. The store reset will follow a debut in late October, with Apple planning a creator-focused gathering in Los Angeles to introduce the new products. Along with the ‌OLED‌ touchscreen ‌MacBook Pro‌, Apple is rumored to be launching the ‌OLED‌ iPad mini, M6 iMac, and M6 entry-level 14-inch ‌MacBook Pro‌. Gurman did not say whether there would be a classic Apple event, but suggested Apple will "do something" and will "have those videos" at the "very least." Gurman previously said Apple might name the new ‌OLED‌ Macs the "MacBook Ultra," but he more recently walked that back and suggested they would be part of the ‌MacBook Pro‌ line. He also said the foldable iPhone could be the iPhone Ultra and that Apple would debut AirPods Ultra, but so far Apple has not embraced the Ultra naming. The ‌OLED‌ ‌MacBook Pro‌ models could be sold as a higher-end option alongside the current mini-LED models, but new chips are not expected. Apple is said to be using the same M5 Pro and M5 Max chips that are in the existing ‌MacBook Pro‌ models. If the ‌MacBook Pro‌ models do launch on November 6, Apple will have several weeks of product launches. The iPhone Duo is coming out on October 23, while the HomePod mini 2 launches October 30. The HomeView and the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K will be released on November 13.Related Roundup: MacBook ProBuyer's Guide: MacBook Pro (Caution)Related Forum: MacBook Pro This article, "Touchscreen MacBook Pro Could Launch on November 6" first appeared on MacRumors.com Discuss this article in our forums

Learned a painful lesson last night on the difference between how the Bluesky and Threads algorithms operate. Absolute PELTERS on Threads as soon as you mention City. Lots of angry people over there. Twitter-esque at times. First time I’ve experienced that on that platform.

You know what? Regardless of the final result our response and reaction to being 3-0 down in this second half had been absolutely sensational. Got to give Maresca a LOT of credit for this.

PSG have been incredible but don’t underestimate the impact playing Liverpool away on Sunday afternoon whilst PSG rested basically their whole team has on things.

Big shout out to the City fans today. Im sure many were not looking forward to it after the major news outlets spent the last few weeks whipping up the country into a frenzy of hatred & indignation. But they showed up with their bananas & good humour. Stood shoulder to shoulder & backed their team!

Shrek Adventure, London Eye and Natural History museum with the family on Saturday. Food, drink, laughs and lie-ins all weekend then get home to see us put three past Liverpool at Anfield. A thoroughly satisfying weekend.
