I just don't understand these AI audio recording devices. Privacy squabbles aside, why buy an entire device for what an app can do? I understand using separate devices to simplify your life: digital audio player, ereader, camera, etc. But you cannot tell me these niche devices simplify your life.

We use DAPs for offline, immersive music. We use digital or film cameras to feel more in the moment. We read books and ereaders to get off social media. Disconnecting is a noble endeavor. AI audio recording is dumb. Use an app like Voicenotes if you want this. Don't buy a several hundred dollar toy.

The fact that there is no real iPad Mini competitor in the US breaks my brain. I am not willing to pay an exorbitant amount of money to import something from China just to get an 8-9 inch tablet with proper stylus support, and I do not want to delve into Apple's walled garden either.

I don't want to game. I don't even need Widevine L1 support. I just want a small tablet with a proper digitizer so I can use a pen to write notes, manage tasks, and read. Yet, we have nothing 😑

It still blows my mind that everyone in America just sort of agreed that we should all own at least one car and drive it around everywhere instead of building neighborhoods and cities around foot traffic. Cars are so expensive and so damn dangerous, yet it's nigh impossible to function without one..

Local-first markdown is still my favorite way to write. I LOVE it. But. Simple and accessible formats should have simple and accessible tools. Keep is just so damn clean and frictionless, whether on my personal or work devices. I don't think Keep is going anywhere anytime soon in my workflow.

With that rediscovered inspiration, I want back to Obsidian and paired it back A LOT. Even though it's not great for quick capture and daily off the cuff use, it's still the best way for me to write longform and explore/build upon my ideas.

BUT, if Google Keep incorporated internal note linking, I think that would be enough for me to move all of my longform writing to Docs and just use Keep as my second brain. Creating hubs with note links is the missing piece for me. Simplicity is key.

A few months ago, I started experimenting with Keep as my primary note taking and pkm tool. I wanted to give it a shot, and I assumed I would immediately give up on it and go right back to Obsidian. And though I still use Obsidian, it's been like 6 months, and I am using Keep every day.

Google Keep reminded me of what I've always known: #minimalism always wins out. Overcomplicating your tools only makes your problems worse in the long run.

My Duolingo streak be like: 301: I can't believe I passed day 300! 302: On the road to one year! 303: TELL YOUR BOYFRIEND IF HE SAYS HE'S GOT BEEF, THAT I'M A VEGETARIAN, AND I AIN'T F***ING SCARED OF HIM! 304: Consistency is key!

Posting quotes or "facts" about politics without citing sources is a dangerous, clickbaity thing we should stop. Even accounts I agree with and sentiments I believe are important to share need to be cited and sources should always be made available. It's how we stop spreading misinformation.

When it comes to #PKM, analog tools force constraints while digital tools offer infinite workflows. In moderation, both approaches have their upsides. For many of us, the sweet spot is using analog for capture and digital for archival, development, and retrieval.

I don't think I can officially talk about it publicly yet, but the ebook app I am testing right now truly feels like it could change the social reading ecosystem. #booksky

Like, look at this...Goodreads/Story Graph/Fable + BookFusion/Google Play Books/Kobo/Kindle + Audible/Libro.fm = everything I've ever wanted in an ebook and audiobook app. And it's by a company I am proud to support and give money to??? Do apps and services like this even exist anymore? #booksky

#Minimalism isn't the solution to any of our problems. It's the result of living a more disciplined, intentional life. Many of us are treating the outcome as the mechanism; the end as the beginning.

Trans existence challenges societal expectations. Stoic philosophy combats mental bloat. To me, it feels like practicing #Stoicism is a natural way for me, as a #nonbinary person, to embrace my true self, of becoming one with the Logos.

The most radical move in an outrage-driven feed is choosing tranquility, which Bluesky gives you the power to do. Refusing to react is an act of Stoic self-defense.

As I've been practicing #stoicism over the years, there's one small principle that's truly alleviated much of my anxiety: you don't have to have an opinion on everything, and not everything requires deep reflection. Sometimes you just have to let the noise pass.

True autonomy isn't found in constant connectivity, nor is tranquility found in passive comfort. It is found in intentional constraint.

I think there may always be a part of me that secretly wants Bluesky to be 2010-2020 Twitter. It never will be, so let's hope that doesn't keep me from seeing what Bluesky truly has to offer.
