Thank you to all the booksellers, librarians, reviewers, Bloggers and readers for supporting us over the last 20 years. Bluemoose champions books that corporate publishing deem too risky. And we're still here flying the Indy flag. From Hebden Bridge to Hollywood and Beyond!

I would love to breathe new life into this little gem… but I NEED funding! I may well eventually turn to you good people, but if there’s an arts-loving benefactor out there who fancies putting their shirt on a passionate, highly-qualified player, then do give me a shout.🙏🏻 Please RT, folks! x

Oh my… if only I had the money (or the backing) I’d buy this place (adjacent to The Piece Hall in Halifax) & run it as Artistic Director. I was once its Patron. A jewel in Yorkshire’s magnificent crown, please someone rescue/revive this little diamond. 💎 🙏🏻 www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/news/people/...

He stood quite still and said nothing. She was gone to sea. All I could do was to be there for him until he was ready to talk. I came back the next day and he was still there. Petrified. And wet. #crosby #stunday

Watching the All-Ireland final. My first address was Croke Park House, Russell Street, Dublin. Sounds very grand, but it was a tenement building. The Behan's had lived on that same street, earlier. My mother said that the roars from the crowd were something she would always remember #allireland

I was in Japan last week at the Hiroshima Peace Gardens. The gardens close at 6.00pm. At one minute to six, the PA system started playing Auld Lang Syne, as people walked out. Now, I don't know whether they do it on purpose, but Rabbie Burns, who wrote Auld Lang Syne, was born in 1759. Genius.

Trump: Hormuz Straits? The lamestream media say, “they are narrow and treacherous and hard to defend.” And I tell them to leave my personal views out of it. New Private Eye magazine on shelves now.

I've had this guitar for fifty four years. The stamp inside it, indicates that it was finished and passed all quality checks on St. Patrick's Day - 17th March 1972. I purchased it in July 1972 from a music shop in Tipperary Town. It cost £13. I still play it every single day. Best purchase ever. ❤️

Remembering the day a couple of years ago when on World Book Day, every pupil in our local Primary School turned up dressed as the "Where's Wally" character. All that is except one... And could they find him? They could not. #worldbookday

There is no "collateral damage." There are only deaths of babies, toddlers, children, teens, women, men, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, pets, farm animals, food supplies, homes, and utilities. Never again use the term "collateral damage."

Congratulations Larry, the Downing Street Mouser.

15 years ago today I arrived on Downing Street in a cage. I've seen off Cameron, May, Johnson, Truss and Sunak and I'm still going strong. Only two Prime Ministers have ever done longer stints here: William Pitt the Younger and Sir Robert Walpole. Bill and Bob - I'm coming for you... (Photos AP)

So you’re Robert Shaw who in close up & on the word “action” has to forget the 11 humans surrounding him, convince us he's on a boat with just 2 other people, in the middle of the ocean, chasing a killer Shark. JAWS (1975) Disabuse yourself of any notion that acting is easy.

Zero traffic deaths is achievable, with political will

Celeste Headlee@celesteheadlee.bsky.social

The capital of Finland hasn't had a traffic death in a full year. Lower speed limits, plentiful speed cameras, 1,500+ km of bike lanes, infrastructure for pedestrians, and a new tram line. When you prioritize people and not vehicles, you can save lives while protecting the environment.

This is such positive, powerful, direct communication. The fact that this seems so remarkable and so rare speaks volumes about our failure to stand up to the fossil fuel lobby.

"My school saves thousands of pounds every year from those solar panels." The TUC directly takes on Reform, a party funded by the fossil fuel Industry. Posted on IG by tradesunioncongress
