There was a fucking hole in our planet’s *atmosphere* Like a legit, no joke, β€œthis will unravel our entire ecosystem” hole in the world, and then we fixed it by working together across national and political lines As a species we decided, β€œwe will survive” Let’s do that some more

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

We acknowledge that no one has the bandwidth for this, but if it helps: -It’s β€˜sleight of hand’ -It’s β€˜bated breath’ -It’s β€˜lo and behold’ -It's 'buck naked' -It’s β€˜brass tacks’ -It’s β€˜free rein’ -It’s β€˜toe the line'

For fuck's sake find other references. That transphobic hag does not get to perpetually dominate the zietgeist. The terms "soul sucking" and "drain the happiness out of me" existed before dementors. Use your big girl brain and find a better way to say it without falling back on your 4th grade read

In 2021, archaeologists announced the discovery of the 3000 year old Egyptian city called "The Dazzling Aten" near Luxor. I want to call your attention to a brick wall under the red arrow. It's 'serpentine' & a single brick wide, separating a housing complex from the road. Why the odd shape?

There's a "Bill and Ted" Regency costuming test: If you can't come up with more period-accurate costuming than a teen comedy from the 1980s, what are you even doing? slate.com/culture/2020... also @billandtedtest.bsky.social

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

This comic is over 16 years old (it's old enough that if it were a person, it might conceivably be starting to check out universities' websites) and it's no less relevant now than when it was first published. Speaking as a university webmaster: Dammit.

I needed to know what day the semester ends at my own university; it only took me a web search and 8 separate clicks to find

We already have flying cars. They're called helicopters. They're really expensive and there are good reasons you have to have a pilot license and work with air traffic control to fly them. Putting jets on a sedan is not going to result in a better vehicle or transportation experience in any way.
