That "distancing" was a joke.

Yeah, this is really bad. It's good that El-Sayed distanced himself from it, but I am in awe at how Cenk's left-wing PAC managed to combine antisemitism with transphobia and pitch it as *supporting* the Democrat in this race.

Happy Birthday to one of the boldest, most dedicated, most courageous public servants this country has ever seen. Shame we never once deserved her.

Happy Birthday, Secretary Clinton!

In the event anyone brings up the asinine comparison of Mandela to Hamas, it is a worth a mention that Mandela was a Zionist and that he received training from the Mossad.

Yup.

People think that IZ requirements force developers to take lower profit margins. In reality, developers have to deliver competitive returns to investors so IZ means nothing gets built until market rate rents are high enough to cover development costs *and* the necessary cross subsidy for BMR units.

He never said anything about whether it was special occasion dining or not, he said it was garish which it is!

I think it's fine that Barack Obama made fun of The Cheesecake Factory but also you are kidding yourself if you don't think there are Americans who consider The Cheesecake Factory to be fancy, special occasion dining. Multiple things can be true.

Israelis are protesting, as they have for months, against Bibi, and thousands are flooding Tel Aviv against Bibi and want change. Hamas won't even hold elections and hasn't allowed them in two decades. Free Palestine from Hamas.

pdr1985.bsky.social reposted

Thousands upon thousands of Israelis are gathered in Hostage Square, calling for change before the upcoming elections. We can have a better, more peaceful future.

ICE didn't have third party controls with international prisons to deport migrants too. But, yeah Obama deported more than Trump. 😂😂😂😂

pdr1985.bsky.social reposted

Obama might have deported more migrants, argument... But: ICE wasn't raping and impregnating the young girls. ICE wasn't White Men and Women who object to their behavior. Migrants weren't deported to third-world countries. ICE wasn't kidnapping people at Courts, Churches, and Hospitals.

There hasn’t been a trend of kids of Russian origin getting targeted here because of Ukraine. Or kids of Chinese origin getting targeted because of Xinjiang. But there has been a massive surge in Jewish kids getting targeted because of Gaza. Mehdi seems to want to pretend that’s fine.

“Criticism of Israel” is designed to force us into a defensive position where we are obliged to acknowledge an obvious truth, while antizionist racists retain the right not to acknowledge the obvious truth that a mass hate movement against the only Jewish country is absurd and immoral.

In August, @liberalcurrents asserted that my brain had been "[microwaved]" by the internet b/c I questioned polling accuracy/transparency & the motivations of some individuals. Here is 1) the passage from LibCurrents & 2) the tweets they linked to. My brain doesn't seem so microwaved now, does it?

As one of the candidates featured in these polls - the infamous one in late June that showed me plummeting into single digits (which was at odds with our internals) - here's the impact of this "experiment"

Antizionism is Jew hatred.

A Jewish child had to explain why gas chamber taunts were wrong. Now adults are sneering at evidence of antisemitism in schools. What the fuck has happened to this country? My latest on the Bell report and the people trying to discredit it. mrandrewfox.substack.com/p/the-canary...

This shit right here is why DSA has to be dealt with the way the Teamsters have to be.

p.s. i do not for a second believe that there is a grand conspiracy to use AI to take people’s cognition away from them or drive them into submission — it’s a very reactionary narrative and framing that shifts the focus away from what’s actually happening and onto a hallucinated fairy tale

you can say you think this flavor of conservatism is good, but you can’t tell me it’s not conservatism to appeal to traditional values & old fashioned ways of doing things i think reading books is amazing and more people should do it regularly, but you will never see me frame it like AOC did here

pdr1985.bsky.social reposted

“doing things the old fashioned way is an act of resistance” i like AOC and would vote for her, but i’m not a fan of how conservatism is gaining traction in progressive movements

AOC: "As AI begins to encroach in our society, their goal is to take your cognition away from you. AI's goal is to take your thoughts away from you, your ability to think away from you, so that you become dependent on a machine ... reading books is active resistance"
