If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation. Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

The superintendent they just kidnapped is a former Olympic athlete who runs footraces with the kids from his schools while wearing a maroon suit and a bowtie. This is quite simply about the people in power feeling threatened by Black excellence.

I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

stop stop pretending there's a plan, stop pretending we're Making America Great, stop pretending this man speaks for Real America, just stop it's stupid and he's stupid and everyone who helped put him in power is stupid fuck

This is the lead story in the New York Times. If you're in the business of communicating, whether through journalism, commentary, or art, this is the five-alarm fire. People are going to remember who spoke up and who stayed conveniently silent or postured about "neutrality."

CBS parent company Paramount canceled Colbert to win approval from Trump's FCC to merge with Skydance. Now ABC parent company Disney suspends Kimmel as it seeks DOJ approval to buy Fubo — and its affiliate Nexstar seeks FCC approval to buy Tegna. See how this works?

We’re less than 2 months out from one of 2025’s biggest elections. In November, Virginia can flip the Gov, Lt. Gov & AG seats from red 🔴 to blue 🔵 — adding another state to stand up to the Trump admin. We’re going ALL IN to win VA. secure.actblue.com/d... #VoteBlueVA #Election2025

A grim reminder: these people will never be satisfied. There’s no point at which they will say “we’ve won, let’s enjoy life.” They will always be looking for someone else to punish, to revile, to dehumanize. They’re empty without that.

the kimmel thing is bad but as long as they arent rounding people up indiscriminately based on race, building concentration camps and talking about eradicating those they deem sexual deviants, i think we’ll be ok

Interesting idea actually

Suggestion: A strike of musicians, writers, hosts, actors, lighting, electricians--everyone, shutting down all TV studios, until Jimmy Kimmel is reinstated. This is the kind of action we need, instead of sitting around just waiting to be gutted.

Trump’s militarization of Los Angeles seems to have been just the start of an authoritarian takeover of American cities. This is not leadership. This is a scary, unlawful grab for power, and we should all be deeply concerned.

It’s spreading.

“I told them I was an American citizen. I questioned why they were using those tactics on me. I asked about my constitutional rights. An officer outright said out loud that I have no constitutional rights at a point of entry,” says Wilmer Chavarria, a school superintendent in Vermont.

5/ The bill cuts the help middle income Americans get to buy health care on the Affordable Care Act exchange. A 60 year old couple making $85,000 (not a king's ransom) would see a $26,000 increase in health care premiums. Yes, that's right - $26,000.

It's pretty nausea-inducing to watch all these financially stable mainly white men with all the privilege applauding about taking necessary, sometimes life-sustaining services away from people in need to give to people who need nothing. What a gross place.
