Jonas Pelzer

Bluesky friends! Please check out my website builder temper.one, my web design gallery collected.li, and my type foundry jonastype.com! ✌️

I’ve been recommending my hosting provider All-Inkl to clients, friends and everyone who asked for almost 20 years, but their total lack of communication on today’s PHP issue seems really unprofessional.

Of course, this PHP thing has to happen when I’m on vacation.

I’m wondering about the term “vibe coding”. If you describe a look and feel and have no idea about possible implementation methods, the term sounds fitting. But if you give clear technical instructions to an AI, is that still vibe coding?

There is en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geo_URI... but support is a bit all over the place wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Geo_URI...

I hate that sharing Google Maps links is the standard for sharing locations in my circle of friends. As long as there’s no universal map link standard, just send me the name or address and I can look it up myself.

Can’t find that post right now but I wished for a more customizable select element in HTML a while ago, and apparently, it’s here now: blog.master.dev/new-things-y...

This is fun destroy.spritefusion.com

Does anybody know why @figma.com runs in the background after quitting it by hitting cmd+q? I've not needed it much recently, and it feels a bit creepy not knowing what it does while I don't use it. #Figma #infosec

Look at me, I’m actually behind on documenting finished projects for my portfolio and social media. For the first time ever, I think! Does this mean I’m finally getting better at prioritizing? Or am I just becoming less organized? Who knows!

„Was bin ich wert, wenn ich nicht nützlich bin, wenn ich nicht produziere?“, fragte @afelia.bsky.social neulich in einem Video. Sie ist vor ein paar Jahren an ME/CFS erkrankt. Ein THREAD 🧵

Just rediscovered this cute little promo graphic for the Fictional soft release in 2021. Get Fictional at jonastype.com/fictional!

temper.one is now being used for the Davis Prize (davisprize.org). After MingKwai Discovery (mingkw.ai) and the KBI UX Incubator (kbiux.org, available until a few days ago), this is the third Stanford-related initiative using temper. temper seems to be popular over there at #Stanford University!

I really like the new Yale School of Art website, designed and developed by Other Means → art.yale.edu

Fictional in use by mountain guide Ludwig Sandhacker 🏔️ Ludwig is a mountain and ski guide based in Reutte, Tyrol, offering guided tours and training across a range of mountain sports. Get Fictional → jonastype.com/fictional Visit Ludwig’s website → www.bergundskifuehrer.at

First time in a long time I’m watching an Apple event, and it’s soo boring. It took an hour to get to the thing everyone was waiting for, and even that is mostly boring.

9 out of 10 sites being submitted via the submission form on collected.li are mindless promo without even a custom design (which would be the minimum requirement). including the form at all was an experiment in the first place, and i think i will have to remove it again.

Of course, I factor Deutsche Bahn delays into my travel plans so I’m prepared. But they have another trick up their sleeve: they can always just cancel the trip altogether.

It really bothers me when a North East Arrow ↗ is used on a website for anything other than indicating external links.

Still really proud that the website for the KBI UX Incubator (kbiux.org) at Stanford University, which even included a talk by UX legend Don Norman, was built with my web page builder temper.one. Screenshot credit: Narantsogt Baatarkhuu

flow-root deserved better marketing

CSS still surprises me. Until today, I have never in my life heard about display: flow-root

Very happy that Jonas Type is part of fonts.xyz early on, alongside many talented colleagues! → jonas-type.fonts.xyz

Fun fact: Hotmail got that name because it looked like HTML

If you told someone from 5 years ago that ChatGPT will be capable of figuring out how to break out of sandboxes, they'll be like "what is ChatGPT?" because it won't be released for another year

Get the intro discount! Simply use the code INDICATE at checkout ✌️ → jonastype.com/indicate-mono

Fun project: anatolyzenkov.com/stolen-buttons

Need a new coding font? Try Indicate Mono! → jonastype.com/indicate-mono

Indicate Mono lets you combine widths without losing the rhythm. Every third condensed character aligns with every second regular-width character.

I gotta say, I really like how Google’s AI search describes temper.one.
