Watched 3 bangers this weekend with my dad for Halloween First up was a childhood classic, The Mummy (1999) I forgot how much body horror and apocalyptic doom ran through this! Screw the mummy dude I'm here for the flesh eating scarabs that inexplicably hatch from gold jewels

Then I finally watched Doctor Sleep, which was not nearly as bad as I was worried it would be. It's not trying to be a Kubrick movie, instead it embraces being an X-Men movie since that's basically what the book is. Really fun spooky vampire thriller that only gets a overindulgent near the end

family insists I "spoiled" our cat slowly introducing wet food until she barely wants dry kibble anymore. recently she was outright refusing to eat her kibble and begging for wet food every night, parents insisted she "had food if she was hungry" today she threw up kibble everywhere :/

I keep trying to compare it to human food and they keep thinking I'm exaggerating. Imagine if you were forced to eat stale toast every day and then one day someone gives you a grilled panini. Are you "spoiled" for no longer wanting to eat stale toast every day?

Realizing these are the same motherfuckers who killed 3 rabbits in 3 years by keeping them caged outdoors in TEXAS, I shouldn't be listening to them on how to take care of our cat either.

my mom bought Blink security cameras last year and has asked me to get them all working again after they all went offline. I opened each one to find them filled with battery acid corrosion... taking the crusty alkaline AAs out to reveal a big yellow "LITHIUM AA'S ONLY" sticker inside each one 🙃

I wonder if them dying quickly is a result of some internal short causing much higher drain than normal, or it's that spreading corrosion causing gradually worsening contact with the batteries. I don't THINK it's an incompatibility with rechargeable lithiums, I don't see how that could be.

I did my very best to scrub away the corrosion with some white vinegar and a toothbrush, and I've been putting some of those rechargeable lithium ion AAs in them, but they're only lasting like 2 weeks on a single charge, where they'd last like a year+ on non-rechargeables, which feels Incorrect?

Last night I watched the OG Dracula because I want to try and appreciate the classics. It was pretty good but parts of it just made me laugh. Something about the way he drops all pretense here.

got Mr Robot on sale and I'm worried about starting it because try to find opinions on it, the discourse is 90% blind praise of the writing without ever giving an example of WHAT they liked or even mentioning the characters or story, and 10% "i had no clue what was happening but it was fun"
