It’s amazing that MAGA labels every election result is doesn’t like as “stolen” or an example of “fraud “, but when Putin “wins” almost 90% of the vote in his crooked elections, they don’t make a peep.

Russia invaded our home, stole my house, killed my friends, personally sentencing me to death. They abduct Ukrainian children, bomb UN convoys, destroy hospitals, schools and churches, and are now using civilians as human shields in Oleshky. “Humanitarian” wouldn’t be the word I would use.

Very late to this, but this is an excellent framing, both as a sense-check to 'are you developing AI psychosis' but also for 'are you, Stephen Bush, wasting compute and AI tokens on trivial inquiries?'

hikikomorphism@hikikomorphism.bsky.social

If you can substitute "hungry ghost trapped in a jar" for "AI" in a sentence it's probably a valid use case for LLMs. Take "I have a bunch of hungry ghosts in jars, they mainly write SQL queries for me". Sure. Reasonable use case. "My girlfriend is a hungry ghost I trapped in a jar"? No. Deranged.

We were too spineless to regulate these billionaire freaks, so now one of them gets to decide whether Ukrainian drones can catch the missiles aimed at Ukrainian kids. We have failed spectacularly.

Even if Trump lies all the time, he has been very steady in his position on Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine: 1. He has persistently supported Putin & Russia. 2. He has always blamed Ukraine & Zelensky, the victim. 3. He has never protested against Russia's terror bombing. /1

This ITV doc about Reform is basically a feature length parade of pathetic white men being racist and/or misogynistic and expressing violent fantasies against Muslims and other minorities. The sheer number of examples was damning. It should destroy their support. It probably won't.

Trump's people seem very focused on trying to make deals with Putin: diesel, gas, unfreezing assets, the list goes on. They can't possibly be so stupid that they think this will really cause Putin to seek peace. How much of a cut are they going to get from selling out Ukraine?

Italy's Defense Minister Guido Crosetto to the BBC: “Most of the Russian budget goes toward investments in weapons or the military. “They will reach 1.5 million military personnel. So if the war ended tomorrow, what would Putin do with 1.5 million soldiers?

The British answer to this question is that, in the UK, meta and others escape the regulations placed on publishers by arguing that they are platforms, not publishers. If they are making "editorial" decisions, that argument falls away. Regulate them!

People demanding Zuck be hauled before Congress to explain why No Kings insta was suspended... how would you feel if MAGA GOP hauled MSNow execs to explain why they covered Trump the way they do? Both are editorial choices protected by the First Amendment. If this annoys you...

Trump’s worldview is that it is good for evil to prevail and wrong for the righteous to resist.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump sounds genuinely upset that Putin didn't defeat Ukraine in one day, which he insists Russia could've done had their generals not taken "a wrong turn"

Plagiarist fella in the kitchen. reposted

The only other logical explanation for Trump going all in to support Putin right now (apart from the Kompromat/Krasnov theory) is that he needs Russian hacking/information warfare help in the mid terms. Which just underlies how much they helped in the past

Trump's complaints about Zelensky/Ukraine and his insistence that he wants peace make sense with reality ONLY if we accept that he defines "peace" the exact same way Putin does-- as Ukrainian capitulation to Russian control.

Of all the many evil betrayals I’ve seen in the last 60 years I’ve been alive, I’m struggling to think of any that match what Trump and Musk did to innocent Ukrainian citizens while Putin was sending missiles this way. A trio to live on in infamy well after I am gone

Trump only thinks that it's Zelenskyy who refuses to surrender, viewing him as the main obstacle standing between himself and a sweet dealmaking with Putin. But in reality, it's not Zelenskyy, it's the Ukrainian people who refuse to surrender. If our president decided, for some reason,

MAGA and pro-Trump bots pushing Ukraine to surrender to Russia just three weeks before the US midterms suggest Trump's pro-Russian faction fears losing Republican control of Congress. This looks like a last-ditch effort to secure concessions for Moscow before its political investment loses leverage.

I hope most Americans are as shocked as the rest of the world is that Trump says Zelenskyy destroyed Ukraine, not Putin and Russia; that he consistently blames Ukraine and ignores Russian war crimes; and that he is trying to force Ukraine's surrender to those who would murder us.

Trump’s own son accepted lavish post-wedding celebrations funded by Umar Kremlev, a Putin-linked oligarch involved with Healthy Fatherland, an organisation sanctioned by Ukraine over its alleged role in abducting Ukrainian children. Children, for fuck’s sake.

If Putin stops fighting, the war ends. If Zelensky stops fighting then his country will be occupied, leaders murdered, language banned, businesses stolen, children kidnapped. That's what happens in Russian-occupied Ukraine.

This is completely outrageous and disgusting. This must immediately be blocked by Congress and Trump should be impeached for this. The US is now funding Putin’s war machine as he murders civilians including children. We are lost as a country.
