Something AI is responsible for that doesn't get enough talk: How, when it scrapes a website to illegally steal everything on it, it uses up a ton of its bandwidth allotment, crashing it or racking up massive fees for site owners.

I literally posted about this exact scam maybe a week ago. Be careful out there folks and always be on the look out for these tells. Also, always look up who is contacting you. They should turn up on LinkedIn or on their company website, or at least give a company.

Illustrators, if you get an email that sounds like this, it's a scam! Spend a little time in anti-scam groups and you'll see this same type constantly. Writers and fine artists get it all the time.

In the case of an indie author commission or someone doing things on their own, still look them up. they should have social profiles or something you can dig into. If not, ask them questions about themselves in a follow email. If they ignore your question, huge red flag.

The Zelda OoT trailer looks great tbh. I was scared I was going to hate the new realistic take on it, but it looks more stylized than I thought it would. It honestly reminds me more of a theme park look than a ”Nintendo hire this man” slop. They went overboard with some choices here and there tho.

Also, given that this is a new game release coming so close to the movie coming out, plus the original game was shooting for realistic graphics at the time, this approach makes total sense to me. Like having a richly detail game coming out close to a live action film feels like a good move to me.

Like it reminds me of that phobia you can get when you’re learning to control the amount of detail in a piece. White space is great. Use it to your advantage. I still struggle with that.

Making a post for anyone else looking into this scam. I had a quick email exchange with a Keegan Wrights senior Acquisition Editor that was contact me on be half of an art director Mr. Takeshi. I looked them up and found a bunch of people for both names but nothing that lined up with either. 1/? 🧵

After I replied once, they got back to me very quickly and ignored my comment about wanting to hear more about other projects they've worked on. Turns out the email for this Mr Takeshi is uzantakeshi@gmail.com. After looking up that name I came across another artist dealing with the same scam. 2/?🧵

It is now 9 years since Sonic Mania came out 😱... another trivia nugget: at one point we had a screen that showed you the animals that were inside the Heavies giving them their personalities! It didn't make the cut (maybe didn't comply with brand guidelines or there wasn't enough time IDK)
