Once again Trump appears to have been played by Putin. No ceasefire. No imminent meeting between Putin and Zelensky. No near term prospect of Trump applying threatened sanctions. Putin got a meeting on U.S. soil, Trump got flattered by Putin. Advantage Putin. Shameful.

2/ tariffs. Even for someone not quite as big an egomaniac as Trump that's going to affect you. This looks like Anthony from cornfield Twilight Zone episode started demanding someone be nice to him and that person just smacked him upside the head and gave him a bloody nose. Stops ya cold.

We don't know what happened, if the summit went badly. But we know Trump thinks it went VERY badly. I think to make sense of the body language we have to remember that all year DC has been a universal fluff farm for Trump. All of the optics from this Alaska meeting put Putin on — at least! — equal standing with the president of the United States. An incredible gift to him at no cost.

Thanks for writing in, Katie. SmartBuy Illinois has allowed her and others to be able to afford owning a home here in our state, all while helping pay off their student loan debt. We're bridging the financial gap and lowering costs for thousands of families.

Aren't we more or less at the one-year anniversary of many media reports about the imminent fall of the "strategic city of Pokrovsk"?

The analysts who said that this Russian operation might lead to a Ukrainian collapse and were a sign of Russian success were either fools or desperate to praise Russia.

It is insane to me that the government can find money to pay ICE agents increasingly larger sums of money, yet teachers have to buy their own pencils.

It's more than fitting to be hosting the Global Aerospace Summit here in Metro East. This has long been a central hub of the industry. And Illinois will continue to be a place where major innovation will be made possible and where the aerospace industry is on the rise.

The media seems obsessed with whitewashing authoritarianism. No, Vladimir Putin is not meeting with "the leader of the free world." He is meeting with his lapdog and wannabe American dictator Donald Trump.

6/ If this meeting passes with no deal, no tough sanctions and no new major military support for Ukraine, then Trump has essentially made this his war. He has assured it will continue, and likely slowly but methodically go Putin's way. A huge moral and strategic loss for America.

Noem says she moved there because she was “horribly doxxed” by the Daily Mail in April. That was when they were reporting how she and Corey Lewandowski had slyly set up in posh apartments across the street from one another, to facilitate their liaisons. Actually kind of a legit story!

What's especially amazing about Hagerty's attempt to say the quiet part out loud here is that it's brilliantly self-defeating: If the Constitution had to specify (in an odious way) how to count *even enslaved people* in the Census, that's only that much more evidence that *everybody* gets counted.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Sen. Hagerty on his legal rationale for not counting undocumented immigrants in the census: "There's a constitutional interpretation I think that has been misapplied that goes back to slavery days and what portion of a person is going to be counted."
