The explainer below, I forgot to disclose, is produce with AI assistance. I did put in considerable work and attention to increase my ownership in it and reduce the slopiness (it has room for improvement and I also have plans for improvement).

pietroppeter.github.io/naffprop/ an affinity propagation (clustering without the k) performant implementation (Nim for Python) with a beautiful interactive explainer 🤩

Played more with this. Experimented with 1) shipping Nim based Python library only wheels ✅ 2) better interop with Numpy ✅ 3) shipping a non trivial algo (port of a ot1d by @stefano) testing also cpp backend ✅ all links to experiment refs in original nimlang repo below. More experiments to come…

Vibed but cool experiment. Created a nimlang python package that makes it easy to try nim with uv, you do not even need to have a c compiler (thanks to existing ziglang python package). In the following minimal example you get 10x improvement for fib(30) github.com/pietroppeter...

Definitely worth sharing, thanks for bringing it here! I love also how the business case is presented in a careful and effective way

Found this amazing little story from @itsfoss.bsky.social about a small logistics company in Italy migrating to Linux that I think is worth sharing! itsfoss.com/linux-storie... I can see lots of SMEs in Spain that would benefit from similar help... (via @pietroppeter.bsky.social on LinkedIn)

Very forceful statement by Terry Tao about AI and math. terrytao.wordpress.com/2026/09/11/a... Note, he is not claiming the models aren't real and powerful. He's talking about how that power should be used. This, I believe, is what all AI discussions should center.

Looking forward to be there!

Ten years ago, I founded QuantStack on a conviction: that we could build a sustainable business by supporting world-class open-source software to advance science. We had no outside funding, no guarantees, just trust in open collaboration. Read the full story: quantstack.net/blogs/Decade...

Not every open-source project wants more contributors right now, and that's fine. Four shapes maintainers run — walled castle, clique, university, hippie commune — and your `CONTRIBUTING.md` is saying the quiet part out loud. No wrong answer, just an honest one. blog.stdlib.io/do-you-want-...
