I've always wanted a faithful adaptation to. Set in 1898, late Victorian/Early Edwardian with cavalry and cannons fighting aliens. Pretty unique for alien sf.

Side eyeing the people celebrating this guy as he's yet another Democrat throwing trans people to the wolves and getting behind right wing moral panics and propaganda instead of correcting them or fighting back. You can support someone as the lesser evil while still recognizing they are evil.

I got into a coffee-shop conversation with a few people about what we were reading, and a guy apologized because he was reading Infinite Jest and therefore being "performative". I told him that the idea of the "performative male" is a right-wing idea meant to police gender. I hope he believed me.
