Local GOP flat-out ignored my "no soliciting" sign to put advertising material for candidate reelection on my door, which is so on the nose it hurts.
"Technically it's canvassing." Technically don't put your shit on my door.
These are the same people who always said "Why not just put a jet's eject seat into a car. It'd be kick-ass and could save lives?" and having them not think 2 seconds more about accidentally hitting that while in a tunnel and turning themselves in meat scrapings.
While I'm trying to figure out Instagram you get to enjoy this cute fox some more.

I worked at Office Max in 2005 for less than a month during Back To School month and it felt like 5 years. Got yelled at for not selling a store perks card to a lady from Munich who bought a pack of 2 pens. I quit the following week.
For context the assistant manager Scott used to come in on his days off in his cargo shorts, for the love of the game, and yell at us because we weren't finding things to clean between customers or selling chairs harder.
He was royally pissed when I told a computer shopper to go to CompUSA, lol.
Scott used to try to carrot/stick us with "the commission" on chair and printer sales; my roommate worked there for another month pushing those things, finally got his commision check for **19 cents!** and quit the next day. Ah, memories.
playing a game of civ thinking "i am an isolationist techno utopia. these fools are rolling in the mud together while i am ensconced in the work of the academy" and the next turn the game throws up the list of most advanced civilizations and you are the donkey idiot at the bottom
β.. people are balancing FOMO, the fear of missing out on enjoying their retirement, with FORO β fear of running out of money,β said David Blanchett, head of retirement research for Prudential Financial.

I'm loving these days that the grocery store is handling the daunting task of browning and wilting my lettuce before I buy it. I was getting bored of letting a week in my fridge do that for me.
You give Leonardo da Vinci no sleep or daylight for a few months then force him to do the Mona Lisa in five hours whilst some producer stands over him shaming him for not working weekends and you see what comes out.
A red tailed #hawk spent a lot of the summer circling around the neighborhood, but kept coming back to perch in this tree across the street, which was quite high up over the treeline; could probably see a lot.
Here I caught him in the fading daylight as he spotted something and took off after it.
The RAM I bought for a "throwaway" desktop gaming setup to hook up to the TV is now $500, which is probably what I paid for the whole system like 2 years ago, minus video card I already had. It's absurd.
These prices are so out of control that I'm going to swap that system into my home server because I need the better performance and always-on efficiency, instead of just building something new. π«
(I say this understanding it's still a bit privileged.)
