was nice to revisit the FF OVA since I didn't finish it as a kid. the story was a little meh but I was taken by the art and especially several bits of the soundtrack. In fact I went ahead & plucked the 2 CDs out of a torrent and put on archive archive.org/details/Fina... archive.org/details/Fina...

I ditched the Elgato Wave XLR a while back but I miss the tap-to-mute functionality... is there really no silent standalone in-line tap-to-mute device anywhere? Every mute button I see makes a noise or a click or adds a digital pop.

got weirdly emotional bumping into the owner of the mahjong place above the bar who asked "where'd your bar move to!"

I would say "Person A" the way that Mr. Burns says "Simpson, eh?!"

If you were going to awaken your Persona like in the games, would you whisper or shout "Persona"? I would sing it like "DAYTONAA!"

HEY! Brian's new video is hell of neat and you can hear me talk about Final Fantasy MMOs in it!!

if there's anything i've learned after 15 years in this goddamn city, it's that finding someone who isn't a scumbag or a liar is harder than finding a thimble, a clock, a hula hoop, an hourglass, a picture frame, a duvet cover, a cookie tin, a claw hammer, a basketball, a toothbr

Yep. Your average Neil Breen movie has more merit than pretty much any Michael Bay or Zack Snyder flick.

The Haunted Drive-in@haunteddrivein.bsky.social

Something I’ve realized about myself in relation to others… when a lot of people say “bad movie” they’re thinking of the acting, the lighting, the technical stuff. To me, truly bad movies are cynical, full of noise, and uncreative. Like, I’d rank MANOS THE HANDS OF FATE higher than CRASH (2004).

I hate that game designers feel pressured to make their games “realistic” or “accurate” to some notion that a loud annoying subsection of gamers will whine and complain if they don’t. Realism is a creative dead end.
