Sports ratings are so important. If they go down, I'm not sure the NFL will continue to broadcast the games.

Da Bears@chicagobearsx.bsky.social

Richard Deitsch: Patriots-Bears averaged 19.86 million viewers. That's the second most-watched TNF game on Prime ever behind last season's Christmas night game between the Broncos and Chiefs (21.1M) Prime says the game is the most-watched Week 7 game on record across the history of the TNF package

Well, I'm sure it's fine to wear "experimental cleats." It's not like wearing his dad's shitty basketball shoes ruined Lonzo Ball's career.

WGN: Caleb Williams was fined, again, for wearing Caddix cleats during the Bears-Patriots game. Caddix CEO Jack Rasmussen told WGN that the company will pay the fine and any future fines if Williams continues to wear Caddix cleats.

The only thing I miss about Substack is how easy the interface made footnotes, which I used way too often for "hilarious" asides. Ghost requires me to code them, so I mostly don't use them, and the Internet is likely thankful for it.

Kelly Dwyer@kdonhoops.com

it costs me 81 bucks a month not to be on substack. Anyone who chooses substack in 2026 does it only for money. And then they don’t make money. But nazis get 10 percent.

They needed his bat. Which was really good that year. He slugged .501. And he was a good enough athlete to play left. You'd have thought that a franchise with Mark Grace playing first, would have moved Brant to left in the minors a couple of years earlier.

They really tried to make him an OF. He played 95 games out there that year and still managed 7 errors

Wait. You're saying the first baseman that Jim Riggleman was using as a defensive replacement in left with the sun shining directly on his face took a bad route? How could the Cubs have ever figured that might happen?

Brian Crozier@briancrozier.bsky.social

Haven't watched the play in a while, so just went back to see it again. 1. Brown takes a HORRIBLE route on that ball 2. It is hard to tell, but I think he actually did briefly catch it but by bringing his other hand in to squeeze the glove the ball then comes loose www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlxp...

Staying up for the win is like tending a garden at midnight—worth it, but posting the recap while the adrenaline’s fresh beats saving it for morning.

Where's Ian Happ? (Hopefully, condo shopping in Cincinnati.)

Eddie Kennison

Hello from Soldier Field. The Bears last beat the Patriots here in 2000, when Shane Matthews threw touchdown passes to Eddie Kennison and James Allen in a 24-17 victory. Jim Flanigan and Rosevelt Colvin each had a sack of Drew Bledsoe.

Tell Pete to give it to Seiya.
