Damn. I know it’s bias due to things that resonate with me personally, but it really feels like people who bring joy to others suffer a disproportionately high percentage of untimely death.
After 2016, I didn’t even care that the cubs had a losing record for half of 2017—then they went on a bananas run, made it to the NLCS despite the nationals being significantly more deserving. In a lot of ways 2017 is just as memorable as 2016.
If the Pacers ever win, I may not care for a decade.
winning the championship was a great moment for all new yorkers. those who choose to focus on the negative, such as the knicks' current record, are missing the joy that comes with the team’s accomplishment.
I think the Knicksnand Nrewers winning the championship in the same year would be a really efficient torture method, and then I could be done with with them both for the rest of my life.
Ok if we somehow remember how to play basketball, I would call *this* a comeback.
But I also think that going down 30 with 5 to go in the half is vomit-inducing
Story: Inside Tyrese Haliburton's return to the Pacers in New Orleans. Of course it went that way. It was never going to go any other way, especially with his inner circle there.
"What it took to get back to this level... Of course he’s emotional."

Hey! @tonyreast.bsky.social !
Long time listener, first time caller:
My wife and I are at the game tonight if you somehow have a spare moment and want to try to say hello, let me know!
I get that winning after having a significant halftime deficit is factually “a comeback”
But where to we draw the line for that moniker?
I’d say “won after trailing by xx at the half”
Typically every team trails at some point in every game
Is every win a comeback??
They should use hand signals and/or change the grid of what any given PitchCom transmission means.
Because my toxic trait is that I am convinced that the brewers are intercepting PitchCom transmissions
Rays giving their starters extra rest, putting Drew Rasmussen and Freddy Peralta Game 2 and 3.
Smart, they dont go up against Miz. They have a deeper rotation than the Brewers. So a little bit of game theory.
I think that makes sense.
Today, Andrew Nembhard thinks about the 2025 Finals for "0 seconds". Last year? He couldn't shake the feeling of being so close.
Ben Sheppard still gets flashbacks. “It’s something I always chase after. You’ve got to bring one home.”

I know the “NBA Season” started yesterday, but my NBA Season starts today (The Indiana Pacers play)
Heart Pick™️
Finals: Pacers-Spurs
(‘Cers in 7)
Head Pick™️
ECF: 76ers-Pacers, all ‘ers matchup
WCF: Spurs-Thunder
Not doing a Head Pick™️ for the Finals bc championships have to be won on their own
This is why I stick to home run inn where the serving size is 1 pizza, or maybe they don’t put a serving size suggestion on there who can say? not me! that’s none of my business
Just saw the most fucked up thing in my life. Looked at the serving size for this DiGiorno pizza and it said one serving is 1/5th of the pizza. What do you MEAN?????
The Jalen Hurts situation really makes you wonder about the actual severity of Caleb Williams’s injury.
I’ve seen a franchise QB get cleared to play through massive injuries, and then seen him retire 10 years too soon.
And Caleb Williams reminds me a lot of Andrew Luck
I love my parents and have made great efforts to spend holidays with them *apart from the family members I don’t want to see*
But I can tell they’re starting to think I’m cutting them off—this panic has been brewing for a while
What was he supposed to do? It was a horseshit question. Was he supposed to be somber and serious to reassure us all that he’s not a sleeper agent? He very calmly and politely handed that idiot his ass because that idiot was acting in bad faith. We need more of that, not less
Trump: "You go up to Minnesota -- number one place in the entire country for the sale of Mercedes-Benz. And Somalians are buying them. They come here with low IQs and no money and they get rich. Do we feel stupid? Our fraud division is getting them all."
Talarico: "We just found out that [Elon Musk] is almost single-handedly bankrolling this effort to install Ken Paxton in the U.S. Senate and defeat this movement...Elon Musk wants our land. He wants our water. He wants his very own personal United States senator. He is trying to buy Texas."
I’d call Ballard’s work middling at best, and I kinda thought he’d get a pass for last year because of the injuries—but letting him go 6 games is basically like firing him for last year. And for the Sauce Gardner trade.
obviously many more important takeaways from the French approach to protest, but much respect to the absolute varsity level Whimsy of throwing a whole ass piano at the cops
“In recent years, many Americans have decided that their country’s problem was that it had too many police officers, when in fact its problem was that it had too few,” Malcolm Gladwell writes:
My thing about the uptown theater is that the photos people are posting are breathtaking, and yes it is a travesty that this gorgeous space has so rarely been seen.
But what they don’t capture is what it’s like to *suspect* how beautiful it is inside while walking by it knowing it may never be open
That is an amazing paragraph. I love the bit where it says *he used AI* to summarise the slop (thereby creating, what, slopception?) and got no new ideas (having not used his own brain) and was terribly angry about that.
The conclusion is about right. But… good grief.
