#31DaysOfGraves Day26: Accident John and daughter, Betty (Btty), Duerden lived and worked at Block Hall, then a hamlet for the workforce of the Walton Estate. The two died days apart, it was rumoured to be an accident, but no evidence exists. In the very least, the spelling of Betty's name was one.

The theme of today's #31DaysofGraves is Tree and this stunted Spaghetti tree at St Peter's, Gaulby, Leicestershire is one of my favourites.

#31DaysofGraves Day 26 Accident. In 1868 Irish Mail train had left London en route to Holyhead. Just outside Abergele, 6 wagons filled with paraffin, came loose from another train & hurtled down an incline into the path of the Irish Mail. 33 were killed and were interred at St. Michael's, Abergele.

#31DaysOfGraves Day25: Tree My eyes go to this Hawthorn Tree every time I'm at St John's Church Graveyard, #Nelson. It reaches out to Hannah Demain's grave covered in Ivy and the Ivy reaches back, creating my assumption that Hannah loved nature? But in the very least nature flourishes all around her

#31daysofgraves - Day 25 - tree. I spotted this headstone of potential Forbes ancestors in KincardineO'Neil, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Made to look like tree trunks. I hadn't seen one like it before, but then saw another similar one in Toxteth Park cemetery a few weeks back!

The Covid Inquiry’s Module 6 report is devastating. Its central conclusion: adult social care was treated as “something of an afterthought”, while “protecting the NHS” sometimes came at the expense of people receiving and providing care. 1/10

This story is not so much about the care sector, but carers more generally. Those who tried to keep families safe due to health risks. This was a different kind of caring (particularly difficult for young people) and we HOPE it will be recognised in the module 6 report. 💔
