I'm currently ill after visiting a hospital to get my eyes checked. The ophthalmologist was sniffing and wiping their nose on their hands, handing items to me and touching my face. I was supposed to be having surgery today, but it got postponed by the hospital, probably for the best considering.

I never know how to react in these situations. If it wasn't a hospital situation, where it's hard enough to get seen and the staff already have to put up with a lot of shit, I would've asked them if they were ill, without being confrontational. Complicated.

FIRESTARTER (1980) Acrylic on Masonite - 20” x 30” It might surprise some fans that my first work with Stephen King wasn’t THE GUNSLINGER. We first met at the World Fantasy Convention in 1979 when we were both Guests of Honor. #bookssky #art 🪐📚

It's more like, I'll endure, but that doesn't mean I don't take permanent damage. Thinking you're coming through unscathed is a youthful folly.

It took me years of working to save up enough to start over in the UK. Then it took me 10 years and a lot of money to get a British passport. All the while enduring a dehumanising gauntlet. There's a reason people choose to bypass the official routes.

since when did settlement get granted automatically because I’m pretty sure I had to pay £4k and also fill out a pretty long application and provide about a dozen pieces of paper evidence and also live here for a fucking decade and pay visa fees and health surcharges the whole fucking time

Historically conquerors often also conquered or influenced the linguistics of their vanquished. On an unrelated note, "podcasts" are just talk shows.

Chun Li found the storm very stressful, it was pretty stressful for me too really, I was imagining my garden buildings and fences being destroyed, along with the plants and trees.

Looking for a journalist who covers UK Government tech, ideally with a health slant - any suggestions? I have once again accidentally found a juicy story while poking at data. Sill not certain, but want to get my waterfowl assembled linearly.

Things change quickly. Marvel's Wanda having an AI boyfriend a few years ago seemed cool.

Please consider supporting Jarrod and I on our Patreon page which features EXCLUSIVE photos, videos, and tutorials. Recommendation from over on Patreon is from the great Casey Love (Predators, Men In Black III), an artist we both REALLY look up to and we’re honored that he wrote these words

Palmer Luckey is inhuman, don't buy his ModRetro shit. If you see them posting on bluesky call them out. Aside from this, he's manufacturing autonomous weapons, doing weapon demos in African conflict zones among other places, where he is trying to sell them.

I'm working harder and crazier hours while unemployed (to secure a new role) than when I was full time employed. It's also intense pressure watching your accounts empty while you try to find a solution. Doing some contract work while also job hunting has me working until ten pm most days.

Being unemployed is very, very hard work. I'm very much burning myself out in the process. But it's not like there are alternatives. As ever it's brute forcing survival. Folks the act like being unemployed is a holiday can feed themselves into a wood chipper feet first.

What's that you say? A UK study aimed at proving that ADHD and autism are over-diagnosed actually found that we are still under-diagnosing both, and lack access to assessments remains a huge barrier to support? What a shocking and unexpected conclusion! www.politicsuk.com/p/fonagy-rev...

The 7thC Holderness Cross was sold to a dealer for £55,000 at auction in London #OTD in 1999. The gold and garnet pectoral cross was then acquired by the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, where it went on display from November 25 that year.

Fuuuuuhuuuuuck golf courses.

Great news for nature! The Scottish Government has refused plans for a golf course on Coul Links that would have irreparably damaged this precious place.  Thank you to the tens of thousands of you who spoke up to save Coul Links. Your voices made a difference.

Here’s a 3up of the old Heroquest Bloodthirster with some of the other sculpts in the background. We used Chavant clay to sculpt these and they became plastic figures. A few of us sat around a table and worked on these together. We would pick one up, work on it and then move onto a different one.
