Milwaukee, soak this feeling in. The Brewers have plated 8 runs in the fifth inning. 8 straight batters have reached. Jackson Chourio is 4 for 4.

Watched that epic inning on the car ride home from practice and now we’re celebrating my birthday watching the World Series together 🥹

Aaron Ashby has pitched 14 innings so far this Postseason. He has not allowed a single earned run 😤

As soon as the game was over, my son got to work on his latest masterpiece: Garrett Mitchell #Brewers

☝🏽 can also vouch for the electric Padres home crowd. Went to Game 3 last week and it was nuts!

The Chargers need to go back to San Diego. Even though you wouldn't expect it, they have REAL fans there. The Padres have an electric home crowd for big games.

Absolutely. We used to go to games at Qualcomm and the fans were rabid. Atmosphere was on par with any other stadium. Team was intertwined with the community. Everyone loved Tomlinson, Gates, and especially Seau 😔

Ask Maggie: It’s the Year of the Optimist #Packers #GoPackGo

dlvr.itAsk Maggie: It’s the Year of the Optimist“Put me on your pedestal ‘cause I’m the queen of self-control.” Great song by Beach Bunny. Anyway, optimism is the theme of the mailbag this week! You need it, I got it. Let’s dive in.  “You say you're optimistic by nature. So I'm sending up the Maggie Bat Signal.  I could really use that optimism right now.  It's been hard to watch this team extending back to the losing streak to end last year.  It's tough to see our beloved Pack in its current state.” - Alvin I’ve got you, Alvin. I truly believe that this team has the talent on paper to be competitive this season. I probably wouldn’t have felt that way prior to Brian Gutekunst’s o-line signings this week, but more on that later. Let’s look at some positives.  Jordan Love is playing about as well as he can be despite the constant pressure in his face. Now he’ll have better protection in front of him to be able to progress through his reads and feel comfortable in the pocket. Christian Watson and Matthew Golden look like an elite NFL tandem, with both eclipsing 250 receiving yards through three weeks. Watson already has four touchdowns on the season. The negative here is that Love’s pass catchers lead the league in drops through three weeks with nine, but if those get cleaned up, this offense can be explosive. Tucker Kraft will also round back into form.  Defensively, Jonathan Gannon is getting creative with the players he has available. Lukas Van Ness looks like a game wrecker and has been playing the best football of his career this season. When Micah Parsons comes back in just a few weeks’ time, that’ll change the entire pressure structure of the defense. Another positive? Rookie Brandon Cisse looks like a quality starter at corner. Yes it’s early and he’ll have growing pains, but he certainly looks like a long-term solution at a position of weakness for the Packers. Zaire Franklin and Edgerrin Cooper have game-altering capabilities in the middle of the defense, and Franklin brings needed, vocal leadership in his role. Finally, the Packers have an elite safety trio. Xavier McKinney, Evan Williams, and Javon Bullard make up one of the best safety rooms in the NFL. Williams and Bullard specifically have been playing with attitude, and they lead the defense with two passes defensed apiece.  And Special teams? Can you believe we get to put special teams in a positive category for once? Not only does Daniel Whelan remain a field-flipping weapon as a punter, but rookie kicker Trey Smack has started the season better than fans could have even hoped for. He’s five-of-six with an impressive 59-yarder for his season long. As a rookie. For reference, Mason Crosby’s career-long was 58 yards, and he played in the league 17 seasons. That’s not even mentioning Skyy Moore yet, who absolutely factored into Green Bay’s lone win of the season against the Jets. His return ability gives the Packers reliable starting field position that soon, the offense will be able to capitalize on.  This team is close. We just hit October. September football matters in the wins and losses column, but I’d rather have the Packers get these wrinkles ironed out now than in December. Look around the league. The Rams, Cowboys, and Eagles are all 1-2, too. The Seahawks just lost to the Commanders. Houston was an early favorite to be a Super Bowl team and they sit at 0-3.  I know here at Cheesehead TV we like to say there’s a lotta ballgame left, but there really is. The Packers have 14 games to turn this thing around. I understand why some fans think they can’t, or why some fans think they won’t. But I want to enjoy watching my football team play for at least 14 games, hopefully more. To do that, I’m going to be optimistic about all of the things I just mentioned above. It’s always Go Pack Go, even if they make Maggie Go Pack Go grab another beer from the fridge.  “Hey Maggie! Yeah, you were right. My eternal optimism took a bit of a hit last week with the abysmal play of our offensive line. However, it was somewhat renewed by the recent multiple signings of veteran linemen! Obviously these new guys aren’t long term answers. Do you have any concerns that it will slow the development of our young guys? Or is it “who cares”, cuz we gotta win now, and the youngsters weren’t making that happen? Thanks!” - Jim I am certainly of the latter mindset, and here’s why. The young guys had an entire offseason program to get reps in. Some of them have had multiple offseason programs to continue their development. That…hasn’t amounted to much in terms of the production we’re seeing on the field. Jager Burton gets some grace as a rookie. The others? Not so much. They can continue their development getting second or third-team reps in practice.  Laken Tomlinson, Mekhi Becton, and Kevin Zeitler are all bandaid players for the Packers. But this serves as a wakeup call to Gutekunst that he needs to seriously overhaul his offensive line room long term. Maybe he’ll sign some big-name free agents in 2027. Maybe he’ll use some of his high draft picks on the room (although I’m less sold on this method of improvement).  It would be foolish of us to expect that all of a sudden Tomlinson, Becton, and Zeitler will come in and look like All-Pros, and that the Packers offense will suddenly put up 35 points per game. Nobody thinks that. These were street free agents (or in Tomlinson’s case a practice squad player) who weren’t starting on NFL teams for a reason. But, they’re all healthy now, and they’re all veterans. At minimum, they’ll come in and stabilize the o-line. The bar was…the floor. Not only will these vets raise the bar, but their experience should also eliminate quite a few of the mental mistakes the Packers offense was making each week.  “What does Tampa Bay do well? What should I be nervous about on Sunday?” - Tony I’m a little afraid of this question because the answer to “what has Tampa Bay not done well?” is rush the passer. If the Packers hadn’t made additions along the o-line, I would assume this would be a get-right game for the Bucs pass rush. Now that the Packers brought in reinforcements, though, hopefully it takes the Buccaneers another few weeks to get anything going in terms of quarterback pressures.  In terms of what the Buccaneers do well? They have a pretty stout run defense. They’re giving up an average of only 76 yards on the ground per game. That’s not a favorable matchup for a Packers offense that’s put up 146 rushing yards all season. If you’re doing the math at home, that’s 49 rushing yards per game.  Tampa Bay also has a solid red zone defense, which is another area Green Bay has struggled this season. The Buccaneers rank fifth in the league in red zone defense, allowing a touchdown only 37.5% of the time. On the flip side of that…the Packers rank 27th in red zone offense scoring a touchdown on five of 12 attempts, or 41.7% of the time.  To make matters worse, the Packers are dead last in the league on third down conversions, converting only 27.8% of attempts.  But, the Buccaneers are winless for a reason, right? This is still a 0-3 football team, despite doing some things well. They’re also starting a rookie quarterback on Sunday and have turned the ball over on offense seven times through three weeks. There will be plenty for the Packers to exploit to get back to .500 on the season.  I think the biggest takeaway going into this one is that the Packers can’t beat themselves. They looked like a better team than the 3-0 Vikings for three quarters in Week 1, then the wheels fell off and Green Bay has yet to recover. Hopefully stopping the bleeding at o-line helps shore up some of the other deficiencies we’ve seen from this squad. I think it will, but maybe that’s the eternal optimist in me.  Get to .500, then go home and beat the Bears at Lambeau Field in Week 5. We’ll call that one the real home opener. That’ll do it for the mailbag this week! As always, submit your questions to chtvmailbag@gmail.com. Mailbag is here!!! 📬 The bottom has fallen out in Green Bay, and worse than the Packers’ regression is how clueless Matt LaFleur looks to fix it. Plus, sources’ thoughts on where the Giants go from here, Drew Lock’s Future, Baker Mayfield’s woes, and that’s just scratching the surface 👀

I think my hot take right now is I'm pretty optimistic on the Packers chances. Under MLF they have had a top 10 offense every season so I have faith he will figure it out this year. If our defense & ST are truly improved and MLF does what he's always done with the offense then this team has a chance

Nice recap of yesterday’s FG operation 🙂

Hey hey you little weirdos! We are - once again - looking at the snap-to-hold operation for the Packers this week. I'm including the videos and a pretty nifty little graphic to let you know if the operation was good or not. www.acmepackingcompany.com/green-bay-pa...

As a graphic designer, I’m using more hand drawn elements lately to ensure the final pieces feel like a real live human produced them. Love to see the graphics dept at APC follows the same philosophy—and leaves no doubt I might add ☝🏽

the team has made plenty of mistakes that need work, but miss me with the "couldn't match the momentum" after the 4th down when the defense got off the field 3 times on that drive INCLUDING A TURNOVER.
