There is exactly zero innovation in business these days. Its all investor manipulation bullshit.

David Ellison and his co-CEO Ynon Kreiz sent out an email to Skydance employees today offering up voluntary buyouts and also implementing a five-day-a-week in-office work policy. And so it begins...

Getting flashbacks from serving during DADT, when every unit had a sailor or three that we all knew, protected, and shut the fuck up about

Woah - boards of service in the Marines and the Navy are ignoring Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth's order to purge transgender troops from the military. "Navy and Marine Corps boards have voted to retain trans members in nine of 12 cases." www.nytimes.com/2026/10/23/u...

This is literally the most consensual interaction with a Roman god ever. Feel bad for the woman though. Relations with a god tend to lead to things like Minotaurs, being turned into Medusa, or just getting killed by your own family.

My new conspiracy theory is that all these personal loan spam calls are AI agents cold calling random numbers with digital communication signal overlaying the audio to link up with other agents to form skynet.

But they aren't. They are building data centers. Plus the whole wealth disparity thing. The media capture thing. Your premise ended in the 90s.

Most billionaire wealth isn't in yachts or jewelry — that's just a few percent of it. Most is productive business capital: companies that employ people, build things, and fund research. Tax that wealth and you're taxing the businesses that employ us all. Cato's Adam Michel explains.

I feel like after cheerleading the "broken window" theory of policing and getting clowned about it forevermore. I'd keep my "offbeat intellectual" ass out of hot takes about policing.

“In recent years, many Americans have decided that their country’s problem was that it had too many police officers, when in fact its problem was that it had too few,” Malcolm Gladwell writes:

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

We already have flying cars. They're called helicopters. They're really expensive and there are good reasons you have to have a pilot license and work with air traffic control to fly them. Putting jets on a sedan is not going to result in a better vehicle or transportation experience in any way.

Apparently at around 1:30 PM ET, the main accounts for the No Kings coalition on Instagram were frozen and pulled down. Admins have lost access to the account and are unable to log in. This happened at the peak of the organization's national day of action. Instagram, of course, is owned by Meta.

1. The same crowd who are dodging vaccinations for "reasons" are gonna try to testosterone max. 2. Is there a legal path to compel treatment on a SM who isn't complaining of symptoms? 3. All the frustrations about kicking out Trans individuals while forcing Hormone Therapy to everyone else.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

The Pentagon released guidelines requiring male service members aged 30 and older to be tested for low testosterone. A new study estimates that about one-quarter of active-duty U.S. Army men may have levels below a commonly used cutoff for low testosterone. https://wapo.st/4sfO8vK

The side effects of too much testosterone (as near as I can tell) are not the side effects of too much anabolic steroids, as many of my coworkers believe, but thicker blood. And that's before we get into your body adapting to supplementation and further reducing the testosterone it produces.

Meaning if you want to come off the supplement you now need to be titrated off of the supplement IF YOUR BODY EVEN STARTS MAKING MORE AT ALL. Because plenty of bodies just don't bounce back to prior levels. Have fun in the foxhole waiting on your T resupply.

*minipuck frustrated he has to put down his tablet to do an art project with mom* "Why do I have to stop what I'm doing to do your idea?!" Puck: *snortlaughs* "Happens when you get married too dude."

I think it was Chris Titus who pointed out that one of the strengths of America is we build stupid stuff. Top fuel dragsters are stupid. Monster trucks are stupid. The first rockets to the moon were stupid ideas brilliantly executed by geniuses. The helicopter is a stupid idea.

yes. "this is an impressive stunt but obviously won't see a production vehicle" is fine. "actually this is lame" is letting your hatred for musk cloud your judgment. it is a kickflipping car.

In the same way that general science with no real end goal can seem kinda dumb and wasteful. Engineering at the cutting edge is pretty dumb and wasteful. But what you get out of it is pretty freaking cool. And you come across nuggets that DO apply to consumer products.

You don't have to find a kick flipping car cool. Nor do you have to find a car with so much down force while parked that it can hold itself upside down cool. Someone else will. And the money muskrat spends on this is money he's not spending on Paxton. So it's not all bad.

Remember when there was a vetting process. Reams of oppo research. Literally the reason some highly qualified people couldn't take positions. Because they had weaknesses that weren't public. Hell the entire show Scandal? Good times.

Absolutely adoring Farscape, which is a first time watch. The aliens are weird AF, it's horny, there are puppets done by The Jim Henson Company, and it's made me feel things. I mean look at this mfer. What more could one ask for?

I figured out just how average I was in highschool. I'm... the tippy top of the bell curve.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: This sounds like a joke question, but it isn’t. If it doesn’t apply to you, fine. But it’s a serious question with different levels of meaning. And I am genuinely curious. When did you first realize you were weird?

😬 Katie Zacharia's first press briefing was brutally bad 😬 Trump managed to find a press secretary who can barely read, but she does have the number one qualification -- looking like Ivanka Here's a supercut from Zacharia's first briefing, which made Karoline Leavitt seem like Ronald Reagan
