I’m from NC, not Ohio, so I can’t speak much for them, but my state was ground zero for the anti-trans pogroms. That in mind, I DO think this one of the uglier races, in that Acton is desperate to throw trans people under the bus and Vivek’s the bus driver trying to run trans ppl over. Both suck bad

What do you mean victory can’t be achieved via eternal Tsushima?

Yet another example of "the politics sickos need to read more military theory" is the fact that so many politics sickos seem to be wedded to the idea that a decisive battle is the One Simple Trick that will result in eternal victory

This is a daily reminder that “Jeffrey Epstein” fits perfectly into the standard high school basketball game chant.

My man looks like he's about to dance through the credits of TROPIC THUNDER.

I pray Dolly’s loss affirms to the public the values she stood for and that her passing makes us all more like her. Maybe it’s naive, but I like to think altruism like Dolly’s is the antidote to cruelty and cynicism. Nobody mourned Charlie Kirk. We all grieve Dolly. I think that’s a good sign.

I think traffic laws are worth enforcing in non-invasive and non-discriminatory ways. I drive a lot but I’m not car-brained. I’d like the road trips I go on to be safer. That said, these euro-brained morons acting like it’s “anti social” or “car-brained” to oppose the panopticon are legit insane.

People are implying that AES called Stevens an “ogre on a pike”. El-Sayed referred to primarying John Fetterman as putting an “ogre on a pike” and that his defeat would move the needle away from Fetterman’s shitty politics. Read the first two paragraphs of this! www.politico.com/news/2026/07...

As per his wishes, Lindsey Graham will be laid to rest in a small, private mausoleum on family land. Graham’s will said that in the event of his death, he would want to be at peace, buried in the sort of closet he could never leave.

"You raise your voice, I erase your voice." ICE in Minneapolis are erasing your rights. Please share our new video of what's happening in our city. youtu.be/W1dyNcRGRXY

Schumer is a fucking Quisling.

Murshed Zaheed@murshedz.bsky.social

Majority of the country now wants to abolish and/or dismantle ICE and yet Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. told the caucus the message had to be to “restrain, reform and restrict ICE.” Once again it looks like Schumer is about to choke after getting a massive opportunity. So pathetic and weak.

my expectation of democratic senators is that they find 1/10th of the bravery of your average 70 year old lutheran lady following ICE around mpls in her subaru crosstrek

Not sure how many people will see this but whatevs. One more thing re: Sascha Riley and disinfo. Right now the Trump regime has unfathomable resources at their disposal. Are they especially competent? Not really. Does that mean we can afford to write them off as a credible threat? Obviously not.

You’re not immune to propaganda. You’re not safe from it. Many of our enemies are idiots. Not all of them. The smartest, most competent ones aren’t announcing themselves and they’re just as despicable as the rubes, if not worse. They’re not omnipotent or omniscient but they want you to think so.

If I sound paranoid, that’s the point. Fascists obscure their actions and intentions behind plausible deniability. Think of all the “overreactions” to Trump that they mocked. They deliberately blur the line between canny skepticism and paranoia. That is their game. Eyes open, keep your head.

They’ve spent countless billions outfitting an automated lying machine. They have tons of loyal employees. They are absolutely running online disinfo campaigns, and it’s not all on Twitter/X, Facebook etc. You’re not safe on Bluesky. You’re not safe anywhere. The whole internet is compromised.

Quite bothered by how unskeptical people are of the Sascha Riley testimony. The whole thing seems VERY fishy. “Lots of republicans that you hate were involved in a pedophile cabal regardless of how plausible their involvement is” seems like a way to bait libs and lefties into a trap.

Best case scenario, he’s an unwell individual whose illness has been hastily mistaken for actual evidence by angry people rightfully calling for more evidence. Worst case, it’s a psyop and they want to pull the rug out from under us because Trump needs a win in the Epstein thing before it blows up.

Now that Kirk's killer seems to be caught, maybe the news could spare a moment's attention for the right wing, from the commentariat up to the GOP and president, whose immediate reaction was not mourning, but to seize the opportunity to try to incite violence against groups they hate
