Congrats to Lula on overcoming Mark Zuckerberg and Donald Trump to defeat Hospital Pervert Jr., even as his opposition literally blocked off roads and turned off bus service during election day. Fascists are scary but they are always, 100% of the time, ultimately gigantic fucking losers.

American conservatives are constantly bemoaning the decline of aesthetic standards and calling for a return to tailored suits and classical Roman architecture, but are now forced to defend the Cheesecake Factory. A constant tension between the Brooks Brothers patrician and the Kid Rock populist.

Wildwood: wow. How beautiful to see someone else's story come to life with such reverence and care. Absolutely gorgeous. Laika should make Redwall -- it's what the story deserves.

For those of you who have newsletters on Ghost...are you noticing an uptick in free subscribers who have extremely fake-sounding names and e-mail addresses? Are these AI scraper bots? Do we care since they can't access any of the paywalled stuff?

This absolutely rules. I don't care if Bluesky isn't Twitter circa 2016; it's a great place to hang out, chat with cool folks, learn new things, and most importantly, not get bombarded with slurs.

i know everyone's talking about a different doc rn, but Once Upon A Time In Harlem is a must-see - a beautiful, artful homage to a period that still somehow gets overlooked. I talked with director David Greaves about it in my first piece for Playboy 😛😛😛😏😏😏

❗❗❗Mark Zuckerberg's meta just suspended the No Kings Instagram account. I just rushed back from my local No Kings to jump on this. Bottom line, would be helpful for all pro-No Kings folks to elevate the issue and help us get the word out about No Kings today. The Nerd Reich strikes again.

Something I think about a lot in context of reproductive freedom is the egregious financial and medical barriers that prevent queer and trans people from becoming parents.

Crazy idea: Democrats should defend immigration and immigrants, run on the idea that immigrants make America great, and stop Homer Simpsoning themselves into the shrubbery every time Republicans try to demagogue it.

Hmmmm an interesting ethical quandary. Someone reached out to me with music, as one does. I liked the lyrics and the voice stood out to me. The artist wrote the music but has a disability that makes it difficult to sing...so this person recorded their vocals but used AI to enhance them (co'd)

I am guessing the AI is doing a lot of work in making this person's voice sound as distinctive as it does. I was considering reviewing the album until something made me want to read into their bio! So...what do we think? (co'd)
