My next "how the heck?" piece is live, and it's all about solar panels! It interactively covers the physics, infrastructure, and economics of solar energy in (hopefully) an approachable way. I learned a ton working on it and hope you have fun looking through it. perthirtysix.com/how-the-heck...

TIL that you can create multi-device audio output with built-in tools in macOS. One computer, one movie/show, one AirPods, one cabled earphones, separate volume level for each, synchronized audio. <3

The fact that it is impossible to have both a company (with VAT EU where you want invoices) and a private profile (where you don't want them) on Amazon is totally beyond me.

Uncloud looks super promising in this space. The power of docker without the overhead of k8s > no central control plane to maintain. Each machine maintains a synchronised copy of the cluster state through peer-to-peer communication 🆒 uncloud.run

I'm starting to really dislike lack of ability to log in with a regular password in favor of "we just sent you a login code". If your rationale is that passwords are unsafe, please add a passkey option then 🙏 Looking at you, booking.com (and TBH, many others)

LPT: Use some shell-safe character prefix (comma in my case) for your custom aliases/functions. This way you can list them easily by typing [PREFIX]<TAB> This is based on an article I read sometime ago, but cannot find it now to give the author credit :(
