there’s no middle ground position on this. either musk is forcibly rooted out of government infrastructure or every war proceeds at the whims and dictates of a generational buffoon

Zelenskyy says Starlink restrictions REMAIN in Ukraine, crippling interceptor drones and military operations. He says Ukraine has evidence the restrictions are DELIBERATE after testing Starlink systems in the EU, where they worked perfectly at speeds that cause connections to fail inside Ukraine.

"If these people take over Congress, they're going to use its powers exactly how the Founders intended! Can you imagine that? Congress doing its job?! Heaven forfend!"

Mike Johnson threatens us with a good time: "If this group took over, they would turn every committee of Congress into an investigative body. They'd spend every day investigating the president, the first family, the cabinet, donors to the party, leaders of business ... "

The Brewers announcers rooting for a Cubs loss against Atlanta so we clinch the division seems short-sighted. If we’re hoping to be the 1 or 2 seed, every loss by the Braves brings that closer. The division is inevitable with the magic number at 1 after tonight’s win.

At my PD yesterday morning, the speaker‘s presentation was titled the Grass is Blue (the name of a Dolly Parton album). It was sad and somewhat eerie to learn in the afternoon that Dolly had passed.

To those who are aghast that I would suggest the Brewers need to go outside the organization to acquire some more power for the lineup next year, remember Kevin Bass. He was a prospect when the Brewers traded him to Houston in late 1982 to get Don Sutton who helped us make the WS. 1/2

Kevin Bass had a nice major league career. Played 14 years in the major, all star in 1986, had a nice five year run in the late 1980s. Does anyone regret trading him to get Don Sutton to help us get to the WS? Just keep that in mind if the Brewers ponder trading for a veteran in the next few years.

Optimist: The cup is half full. Pessimist: The cup is half empty. Western US water righs: Our baffling 100+ year old laws require me to pour 3 cups of water into this cup, leading to outrageous waste. We should blame the Saudis for this

Very impressive!

I genuinely do not have enough superlatives for what Brandon Scott has accomplished during his tenure as mayor, and I'm going to be so sad when he's term-limited out. I don't know if he has ambitions for higher office but I would vote for him for anything he runs for.

This group of moderate Democrats needs to go.

This is a batshit response to attacking candidates who are winning primaries and elections, when the other side is fascists. If you think you have more to lose from lefty candidates winning office than MAGA's continued destruction, no one should take you seriously. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/06/u...

It’s been difficult watching Christian Yelich batting in the top part of the lineup when the Brewers have better options hitting 5-6 (Bauers and Vaughn). Felt it really cost the Brewers tonight.

I'd also just note that Trump always does shit like this when he has a week where it's shown he has literally 0 juice. Can't get the senate to listen on the save act, can't get his AG nominated.

Trump posts meme suggesting he wants to run for an illegal third term, then follows that up with posts suggesting he wants to annex Greenland and Venezuela

The reason that Republicans are attacking immigrants is because immigrants make America wealthy and economically dynamic. Their vision for America is to turn the entire country into the South: an uneducated and impoverished backwater that a hereditary elite rules over like an aristocracy.

“The famine is over! The curse be damned!! Hit the nuclear button! Mayo have won the All-Ireland!!” An all-time great sports commentary moment from Stephen Grealis and Martin McHugh on Mayo’s Midwest Radio. #gaa

🔥 Jon Stewart Defends Democratic Socialism: “When you call it SoCiALiSm, I think it’s a misnomer — It’s about strengthening a safety net for a country that has suffered too long overvaluing capital and money, and undervaluing labor and work. That’s it.”

@danielsilvabooks.bsky.social Do you ever consider Gabriel Allon’s age while you write? As a longtime reader of your books, I am occasionally struck by someone in their now mid-70s doing the things Allon does (which is probably not what you want readers thinking about). I’m currently reading Ransom.

If Trump looked this bad and out of it at the World Cup final, how’s he going to look at the Summer Olympics in LA in two years (providing he’s not already dead and/or no longer the president)?

The Milwaukee Brewers paid Brandon Woodruff almost half a million this year per inning pitched. Ridiculously stupid qualifying offer considering his health coming into the year, especially for a team with a budget.

Actually read through the documents Trump released last night and they show basically the opposite of what he claimed. It shows that Russia aggressively sought to interfere on behalf of Trump in 2020. China explored it but thought the backlash would be too much and stayed out.

Just saw the first ad in the Wisconsin governor’s race from a PAC backing Tom Tiffany. Focused on the super important issues of statues being removed, communism, and transgender scare-mongering. Very out of touch.

Ossoff: "Here's what's going to happen tonight: the world's most famous sore loser will deliver a prime-time presidential sour grapes address to pursue his 6-year-old grievances about the 2020 election, while his war in the Middle East spirals out of control & the cost of living continues to rise.."

Remember how actual, demonstrated Russian interference efforts were derided as a "hoax" by this guy? On Thursday, let's compare the evidence for 2016 interference relative to what's shown for 2020.

20 of 27…does he have a chance at the other 7?

Stephen Wolf@stephenwolf.bsky.social

The Declaration of Independence specifies 27 grievances with King George III and Britain. Donald Trump and his regime have committed at least 20 of those same offenses highlighted in yellow. Happy 250, America!

@goodlander.house.gov Stop your committee before it starts. Remember “vote blue no matter who”? You need to unite with those further to the left. The reason they’re having success is people are pissed that the current Democratic leaders have done a terrible job stopping Trump and messaging
