My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

You were always kind and friendly to me. I’ll never forget how excited you were to talk shop, the few times you’d hear us passing by and want to take photos of our trains. Driving to AC together in ‘23 was a good time, meant a lot. Highball, @linxfox.bsky.social May you rest in peace. Fuck cancer

Bioware has shut down. Founded in 1995 in Edmonton, it was the software studio behind iconic video game series such as Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect, Dragon Age and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Today is Persons Day. This day honours The Persons Case, which ended in a victory for The Famous Five on Oct. 18, 1929. The ruling declared women to be persons under the law and qualified to sit in the Senate. Cairine Wilson became the first female Senator in 1930 📸 Wikicommons

The fact that the tree is as old as the United States should not be lost on anyone. What a metaphor.

The Trump administration’s actions resulted in the destruction of the largest ancient Cottonwood tree on Indigenous territory in Arizona. This tree, known as the “Grandmother Tree,” was 250 years old.

Unlikely since most my followers are US/EU but are there any Canadian healthcare workers among you? I need to interview a client facing healthcare worker for class 😖 willing to sketch you a portrait in return for your time! 🇨🇦

I'm not crying, you're crying!

This is the most remarkable story Ray Bradbury ever shared with me. He told it to me late one night, sitting in his den of antiquities and mementos. Take five minutes to read this. It’s pure magic. #Writing #Living #Creativity #RayBradbury #BookSky

Having discovered that the apple tree outside our home's apples are actually tasty right now, I am endeavouring to make and preserve apple sauce with as much as I can harvest :D Wish me luck

Luck was very much with me! Hours on my feet, but a fantastic finish for my first foray into foraged fruitwork like this. Pics to follow once its out of the water canner

Bill Wolkoff has kindly shared this image of the mask used for M'Ress in #StarTrekSNW's "Tomorrow's Enterprise" at Threads. So you can see it was a practical effect. 👌

Does my Speak-n-Spell feel pain when I type O-U-C-H? The jury is out. Philosophers and neuroscientists say that's fucking stupid, but I called a guy from the Center for Pretending that Household Electronics Are Sentient and he said there's no way to know for sure.

The fact that an artists’s pen strokes are the hand-muscle-mind palimpsest of a thinking process is what intrinsically weds drawn characters to an expression from the artist’s soul. It’s the minutiae of the creators’ expedition through to final lines that’s skipped with AI, and so, is not there.

In 1996, Eric W. Schwartz (@ericwschwartz.bsky.social) debuted his webcomic "Sabrina Online". The series grew alongside the internet itself, and certainly influenced several artists around the world. In its 30 years, I'd like to thank Eric for sharing his great talent & humor with us! 🎂🦨
