Couldn't resist looking back at firehose optimization after getting STAR-lite mostly working. Looks like 3x firehose bandwidth reduction is achievable with implicit MST + previous-commit cache of CIDs per repo.

One of the things I took from #AtmosphereConf was that there's still a hole to fill to make it easier for users to back up their identities and that something like a mobile app may do that. So if you're interested, please take a bit of time to answer the questions to help shape that app.

Okay, so it's not private, but I threw together a related proposal that could help with this on discourse. This has come up in conversations with @thisismissem.social and @knowtheory.net recently as well.

so so nice to meet so so sooo many people!! sad i didn’t have more time with everyone i did meet, with the MANY people here i missed, and everyone who couldn’t make it, esp new friends from last year. but overwhelmed with gratitude. in particular for @baileytownsend.dev, partner in workshop crime.

it was a great conference and i will probably write more but i am very sad i wont get to hang out with @bad-example.com anymore they are so nice and smart and i want to ask them 100 questions and be best friends, a tragedy our conversations were so short 😔

It has been such an amazing conference and week. I don’t think I can put into words just how amazing it has been to finally get to meet everyone and hang out. Thank you everyone for all the kind words and making this such a rememberable week!

oh i forgot to mention in my talk, but some of us small indie relay operators are getting together to make @firehose.club so we can share network limit bumps and bans and build some shared tooling. we can go further together <3

Hold me to getting the first version of these out this week. I just need to make some small changes, document them, and then publish the tools. I mostly want to reduce the number of tool calls to make them more token efficient for folks who don’t want spend on a Claude Max 20x plan.
