“what was your biggest impact on the internet?” i was part of the working group that created the OWIN standard for .NET 4.x, which eventually became the standard for middleware, and ultimately evolved into ASP.NET Core.

Wrong answers only. My bet: thanks for all the fish.

holy fuck this is an amazing thread

what is it about The Breakfast Club that prompts Prime Video’s autoplay next choice to be Sex and the City S1:E1?

and then the interesting girl played by Ally Sheedy becomes heteronormatively attractive by mid-90s standards and the jock decides to fuck her, and they all live happily ever after but have a weird addiction to group therapy

“Yo wastoid, you’re not gonna blaze up in here.”

the big dance party from It’s A Wonderful Life

the maddest bit in The Breakfast Club (1985) is when Assistant Principal Vernon says “i earn $31,000 a year and i have a home.”

My humor is the worst, because I had to restrict myself from smiling when @rendle.dev called out "bash bash bash" at her Locknote at NDC because the word is pronounced the same way as the norwegian word for poop.

i created a 90s EDM/techno playlist as inspiration/immersion for a 90s-based musical i'm writing, and i forgot how hard some of these tunes slap

imagine what flat-earthers could accomplish if they put their no, wait, i see the problem

french if it had a compiler

you don’t need an infinite number of monkeys with an infinite number of typewriters to produce the complete works of Shakespeare. you just need two stem anthropoids and 40 million years.

*laughs hollowly in JD Sports* Proper shops, though, yeah, 💯

Very kind of the other parties to skip the Clacton by-election. In the General it was a very confusing ballot; there were more candidates than most of the voters could count.

yeah, this too

also the ceos of ai companies that trained their models on everybody else's work then turning round and complaining about people stealing their shit is fucking hilarious to me

just had one of those moments where you're reading about billionaires complaining that other people are making money and you think how nice it would be if people just did stuff for the good of humankind instead of avarice

Yeah. People are thinking of “80s summer”, before we had cable TV in the UK, and video games were in arcades, not your house. We had six weeks of freedom and by the time school started up again we’d all gone feral.

oh gods is this Penny Arcade's demographic now?

I wrote this when I was just getting started, and I apologize for the amateur editing. Getting tired of this, but let me remind you. He was never a Military leader. He is a disgraced National Guard Major. substack.com/@hypotruths/...

“Hegseth uses his D-Day anniversary speech in France to openly express his wish that Hitler had won.”

The SwiftUI Way is currently 30% off for WWDC26!

Working class means you don’t own the means of production; unless you are independently wealthy, you’re a hostage of capitalism.

“men need a positive model of masculinity to follow!” skill issue tbh. women make up femininity as we go and then argue with each other about whether random aspects are bad. there are a hundred schools of femininity and all of them allow you to steal your brothers jeans bc they have real pockets
