The Lancet. www.mo.be/nieuws/hitte...

Meisjes lopen voorop in sociale verandering – soms erg zichtbaar, veel vaker bijna onopgemerkt, schrijft Isabelle Verhaegen. Maar bijna steeds nemen zij een groot risico wanneer ze zich uitspreken, want de wereld lijkt niet klaar voor meisjes die de leiding nemen. www.mo.be/opinie/moedi...

Stop the slop! Pagebound is like if Goodreads & Reddit had a baby, but indie, anti-AI, and built by 2 women. No AI features on Pagebound ever, no algos even—just kind humans discussing good books & you can feel the difference

Just so you know: if I ever have to show ID to access a social media platform I will simply not use that social media platform.

v1.111 is live today! We've upgraded our Age Assurance system to comply with upcoming laws in Australia and other regions, and to restore access to people over 18 in Mississippi. Plus, we fixed some bugs and laid the groundwork for improved "who to follow" suggestions in the near future.

Discovered @pagebound.bsky.social earlier this week, an indie and anti-AI social book tracker. I have been testing some goodread alternatives for a while now and always ended up returning... Hoping this one will do the trick! 🦄

I haven't been active on socials in a while, because my dad recently passed away and I have been having a tremendous hard time. Ever since his cancer diagnosis about half a year ago, nothing has felt right. I pretty much just don't know what do do with myself atm.

I quit my subscription at Spotify a while ago and turned back to buying actual content. For music that is still relatively easy as there are several paltforms such as bandcamp.com that you can use. For movies and tvshows, it's a different matter tho...

If you don’t like pics of nature, now’s the time to unfollow 😄 I go on hikes almost every day and love to share more of the gorgeous scenery I’m running into.

I love autumn hikes in the suncovered woods! ❤️ 🍄 These are taken with my DSLR - still very much an amateur though - in manual and macro mode. Some of them took some serious acrobatics in order to get a nice shot and not to disturb the surrounding flora. 🤸‍♀️ 📸 😅

A little photodump of Dublin. Been chillin a bit with Ada, contemplating what to do about this hole that’s left after deciding to stop all women.code(be) community activities…

Bruxelles, ma belle. Spend time catching up with a good friend today, wandering the streets and spotting some Invader pieces. Also, lunch was nice! Crispy, fried, wantans 🤤

You know what the best AI feature is? The ones that I don't have to turn off somewhere in who knows what part of the settings. Instead of turning AI features on by default, I feel it should be the opposite.

Trying to start a healthy habit of doing a morning walk of 5 km at least a few times a week. Mostly to clear my mind, destress and get enough exercise. 🧘‍♀️ I thought I’d share some of the scenery I pass by on the walks.

Such a great time we're living in... Free AI fatigue and climate depression for everyone! Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to escape to an post-apocalyptic reality overrun by machines that are being controlled by an evil extremist cult *oh darn*

This year Earth Overshoot Day fell on the 2nd of August. 😓 In case you're not familiar with Overshoot Day: it is the day that marks when we already have used up humanity's resources for the year and we exceed Earth’s capacity to regenerate those resources that year. https://www.overshootday.org/

overshootday.orgEarth Overshoot Day home - #MoveTheDateOvershoot occurs when humanity's demand on nature exceeds Earth's biocapacity. In 2023, Earth Overshoot Day falls on August 2nd.
