EE may have let me down, as may Apple’s pre-order availability… but the Cardiff Apple Store didn’t! 🎉

iPhone Duo preorders are the most bonkers I’ve ever seen. As far as I can tell, Cardiff had a single 2TB model available. I had the whole thing set up on Tuesday, but there were zero of that model to collect. Eventually settled for very delayed delivery, but EE may have saved the day!

You can easily oppose the barbaric war crimes of the current Israeli government without backing this racist motion, which also takes away agency and the right of self-determination from everyone in the region, regardless of faith and background.

The "zionism is racism" motion that has just passed on the Green Party's conference floor is truly gross, and deeply racist. The party's MPs deserve some credit for opposing it, though they should've done so more stridently and sooner. This is now a millstone around the party's necks. Deservedly.

hello. I’ve finally relaunched my website! Looking forward to writing more about Swift, iOS development, tech in general. Maybe it’s a bit bonkers to start writing about tech, and about programming in 2026 – but I want to! I think there’s still a lot of fun things to write about. rhysmorgan.co

I really should get on and build out the rest of this app… (the rest being literally more than the basics of a timeline and posting feature lol)

Look, if I were in the middle of denying I'd participated in a straw donor scheme to launder illegal political donations from inadmissible donors, I probably wouldn't want to be caught on camera setting up a different straw donor scheme to launder illegal political donations from inadmissible donors

I dumped 1Password years back when they moved from Mac-assed consumer software to focusing on enterprise - clearly made sense for them, but Apple’s Passwords was more than good enough. Now, with them funding the fascist Linux distro, I’m glad I’ve not been giving them money for years.

I do wish any of these pieces that criticise tax rises in favour of "welfare reform," would engage in the 16 year long experiment in welfare reform that has culminated in marginal savings and an increase (until recently) in child poverty. Truly, a mugs game. www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

I am so sick of this. Reach locally run 20 scare stories a day on benefit cuts on Black Country Live, cos they know fearful people will click This is based on Blunkett musing on possible benefit changes for Neets Not local news, not in fact news just speculation, headlined to scare. For shame.

I’m liking this “one nice policy a day” thing we’ve got going on right now! A marked change from literally just a week ago. If these sorts of things had been woven into Starmer’s time as PM earlier, even if they cost, he might still be PM lol

One reason why back in 2020 I thought Starmer should bring in a PLP social media code of conduct is to minimise the amount of, frankly, pointless hassle, that microblogging causes parties.

Oh Christ

Lisa Nandy's job has been expanded! She's now in charge of the internet too! Nandy has had two years overseeing Ofcom's regulation of TV. Now she is overseeing social media and online safety, too. Gosh.

Rhys Morgan reposted

It should have been a point of principle not to give her a job. Aside from the economic stupidity and immorality of the crusade she led at the Home Office, she symbolises the political failure that landed Labour in its current predicament, without which Burnham would not have had his opportunity.

I just feel like constantly, endlessly moving ministers around – especially the handful who are clearly on top of their brief and delivering – is one of the reasons that our country suffers. Nobody gets the chance to learn their trade.

Now I’m curious! Either: 1. A late change. 2. Deliberately misleading briefing. 3. Party management after push back over the weekend. 4. The people the media thought knew what was happening, did not know what was happening. Presumably one of the above?

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. underpromise and underdeliver, or not actually do enough. promise a lot, and if you get 60, 80% of the way there, we’re a lot better off!

Julianna 💎@batariangal.eurosky.social

Someone on Sky News just said "Better to underpromise and overdeliver". Oh no

Mel Stride can fuck off. I’m no Rachel Reeves fan, but blaming her for “wholesale mismanagement of our economy” and “leaving us with more challenges than opportunities going forward” is brazen coming from a fucking Tory, whose party are why we’re in this state in the first place.

Did we expect Lammy to go? Also, “I would have been proud to continue serving in Cabinet.” Ooft. I feel like he probably would have been good back as Foreign Sec???
