Engage the base. Persuade the middle. Alienate the opposition, better yet, expose precisely how sick and evil they are.

The ultra-wealthy keep trying to pit the rest of us against each other with scare tactics ("communists!" "men in the ladies room!!" "brown people!!!" "drag queens!!!!") to keep us from noticing that our real problem is THEM. They want us to fight *any* war—except a class war. Happy Labor Day.

This year's Ig Nobel prizes included a set of studies of what a lot of us have observed. More financially privileged people are more likely to be bad actors when driving, taking candy from children, and more.

feeling unexpectedly emotional as we visit saerbeck, a town of just 7200 in central germany that formed a climate municipality. they produce 4.5x the electricity they need, and have developed a whole array of climate solutions. one of them? a climate action curriculum that starts in kindergarten.

There are endless studies showing this and also the financial and societal benefits of universal basic income and or housing-first policies but the U.S. never goes for any of it because it would require allowing the poor to receive benefits that the rich consider “undeserved”

“A single-payer universal health care system could cover every American, save more than 100,000 lives a year, and still cost $1 trillion less than the system it would replace, according to a new preprint study led by researchers at the Yale School of Public Health.” ysph.yale.edu/news-article...

The richest man owns X. The second and fourth richest men control Google. The third richest man owns The Washington Post. The sixth richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. And now the seventh richest could soon take over both Paramount and Warner Bros. See the problem here?

If a person stands in the town square shouting that they are going to kill people, they get arrested. If a hundred people goose-step on the streets waving flags with swastikas, they get a police escort for their own protection. Why waste public resources to protect would-be mass murderers?

It really looks like Jeffries lied to us about his meeting with Kushner. Immediately after the meeting he appointed 3 pro-Netanyahu hawks to the foreign affairs committee. I guess there won't be much diversity of opinion on that committee.

US media: Why in the world are people voting for democratic socialists? Financial Times: “US corporate profits have hit a record high while workers’ slice of the pie has sunk to historic lows.”

This morning in Danbury, ICE was arresting parents at school bus stops. But it’s more sinister. ICE waited until the kids were on the bus so when they are dropped off at the end of the day, they are alone, scared to death they can’t find their parents. I’m heading to Danbury.
