Even though I was born in the states, I spoke mostly Cantonese Chinese at home growing up. When I first went to school, which was largely white, they did not have an ESL program so they considered putting my in special ed.

my mom named her kid (me) “蓝天” which means bluesky in chinese, so i called myself “jay” to become a bird instead, and then some birdapp company named their project “bluesky” and i ended up running it.

just re-posting this for context — 2 months ago there were ~250 people here, most of whom we knew. so we’re turning on all cylinders to figure out scaling up. thanks for bearing with us and joining this journey! 😊🙏

yes. there’s other ways to deal with even the worst actors. ignore, shun, humorously dismiss, refute. but “bullying” escalates cycles of confrontation that bring out the worst in people. i think bad actors sometimes thrive off the negativity too.
