The image of the fish is now rendered via a sprite sheet and animated using the CSS steps() function. Thanks @joshwcomeau.com for the helpful guide 👇 www.joshwcomeau.com/animation/sp...
The new FilePond v5 landing page is shaping up to become quite a funky art celebration.
After literally years of pivoting my friend and I are finally launching cropguide.io 🚢 We offer a free tier with up to 100 edited images per month. During the ProductHunt launch (is that still a thing?) we offer a 50% discount code on the paid tiers. www.producthunt.com/products/cro...
with some trickery the Boids now behave more like fish :)
I'm now working on digital fish. You can kind of simulate groups of fish and birds with Boids algorithm. Each Boid steers away from other boids, steers towards the average heading, and steers towards the center of the group. I named the custom element <boids-zone> 🎶 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boids

Just crawled from under my rock and learned about the CSS `shape-ouside` property to wrap text around shapes. developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/W...
The final_real_final_1 FilePond JS/CSS water animation. The lily pads now rotate with the water level giving them a bit of a 3d look. I've also added a texture to the water so it better fits with the art style. I love tinkering with details like this, can't wait to work on the dark mode version! ✨
I'm working on a water animation. The lily pads are positioned relative to the right side of the viewport but the water waves are calculated from the left hand side. The vertical offsets depend on the wave height. Now when you resize the viewport the lily pads kinda "bounce" over the waves. 😄
This site generates an abstract artwork using the commits and files in a GitHub repo. This is FilePond v4. www.habibicode.org/artrepo

I spent the past two days cleaning up and improving the cropguide.io landing page. I've replaced the hero illustrations with photos, added a video that shows the editor (it blends in the page), and the live demo is now more to the point. Thanks @kilianvalkhof.com and @hidde.blog for the feedback.
It's _this_ easy to add CropGuide to a website. As a test I opened Bluesky and copy pasted the cropguide.io script to my Chrome developer console and then selected an image to post. 😅 It just works! 🪄
CropGuide now offers a free tier. Copy paste the CropGuide <script> tag to your webpage and now your <input type="file"/> automatically opens a client-side image editor to crop images before upload. pqina.nl/blog/crop-im...
This "company" generated an "open source" file upload library that looks suspiciously similar to Uppy and is now spamming FilePond repositories with backlinks. 🔥☕️🐶 - This is fine github.com/DevinoSoluti...

The edit.video contact form is now also treated as a prompt input box. 🫠 The emoji sequence makes it seem like the LLM prompt begins with a Mortal Kombat fatality.
The general public now thinks the contact form redact.photo is a prompt input box. I wish all their prompts were this innocuous.
If the banner above your article is AI-generated I usually just close the tab in disappointment. nelson.cloud/ai-generated...

I just hired David Lanham to do the artwork for the FilePond landing page! Haven't been this excited in a long time :D 👉 dlanham.com
