So many sneering elitist journalists with snarky posts over the past months that the Reflecting Pool story was trivial. It was so trivial that the DC US Attny presented false evidence to a grand jury to indict an innocent man to please the President while they both lied about it.

Of course the safety argument is bogus & always has been, but underlying its bogusness is the fact that these people genuinely cannot feel safe, no matter how actually safe they are. Trump will flinch at every loud noise until it happens.

Every single thing that has his name on it needs to be renamed or decommissioned or torn down. Federal funding should be withdrawn from the noncompliant. The aim should be to make clear, both legally & symbolically, that this entire episode was an anathema to the meaning & honor of the Republic.

When I was in the Army I was with the 1/11th ACR stationed in Downs Barracks in Fulda, Germany. Our mission was to serve as the border patrol for the east/west German border, but also, we were the speed bump to slow down the russians who would come barreling through the Fulda Gap.

the dow is up 700 point because donald trump had talks with an imaginary Iranian friends and all the super geniuses that run the financial markets said "ok awesome everything is back to normal"

The straits of Hormuz are closed and the mideast is on fire and crude oil is surging but the dow is up 200 right now because our entire fucking economy is not based on numbers or reality but a fucking vibe felt by a bunch of coked up douchebags on Wall Street

I would argue they knew exactly what they were doing, which was deliberately sabotaging needed public works programs by offering snake oil they never had any intention of delivering.

A year long investigation into the Hyperloop found … “The truth was far simpler, far dumber, and far more prescient: Musk and his lieutenants truly had no idea what they were doing.” washingtonian.com/2026/02/12/h...

Patrick Healy and Joseph Kahn insist their job is to challenges their audience's assumptions; like "should officers of the state be allowed to do a little murder in cold blood, as a treat?"

Really fucking sick of snark suggesting they deserve this. In case anyone was interested in my thoughts on the matter. This is a very serious development.

Breaking news: The Justice Department has issued subpoenas for Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey as part of an investigation alleging that they are impeding federal law enforcement officers’ abilities to do their jobs in the state.

I would be okay with NOT abolishing ICE… …so long as everybody who worked there under Trump was fired, some of them were investigated and prosecuted, the agency was given a new name, the funding was scaled way back, new hires were screened*, and strict new rules governing conduct were in place.

This is a big no-no in armed combat. It’s like dressing up as a doctor or a nurse and then shooting someone. If this is proven accurate, it’s 100% a war crime.

Kyle Griffin@kylegriffin1.bsky.social

Breaking NYT: The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first boat attack, according to officials briefed on the matter. The laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status. That is a war crime called "perfidy."

This feels like evidence Trump's aides are deliberately gaslighting him, which is unfortunately very easy to do with dementia sufferers (Trump did it to his father) and which aides are using to seize control of the US military for their own purposes.

The protests are on one block. Nothing is burning down. His justification for sending in troops is all based on lies.

I think we should all just assume John Roberts is compromised. Maybe he isn’t, but everything he’s done since 2023 or so is what you’d expect from someone who’s compromised.

The same people demanding you present a photo ID to vote are perfectly fine with letting you be arrested, handcuffed & thrown into a van by armed men wearing plain clothes, face masks & presenting no identification of any sort.

I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving. There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later. They. Are. Breaking. The. Law.

If you burn down a forest, you don't miss out on lumber for just that season. You have to replant all the trees, nurture them, and wait for them to grow. The science and research budget cuts happening now are wanton, senseless arson. Recovery, if it ever happens, will take generations.

I don't know whether Elon v Trump is real or going anywhere. But both have real weapons to use which they haven't. Elon can spend money pumping up resistance to the big beautiful bill. Trump can start yanking the contracts Elon gave himself running doge. Until those things happen, meh.

It’s not just pathetic—it’s treason cruising at 30,000 feet. A foreign government gifting the current president a luxury jet isn’t diplomacy—it’s a payoff with wings. If a Democrat pulled this, Fox News would’ve declared martial law by now. But since it’s Trump? Silence. #BribeForceOne
