My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

BIG DEAL on voting rights this morning: Governor Spanberger just restored the voting rights of some 60,000+ Virginians. Her move reverses Youngkin's abrupt decision in 2023 to end automatic voting rights restoration, which brought Virginia back to a system of default lifetime disenfranchisement.

The point is, this regime will violate the rights of anyone it wants. And that’s not what it means to live in a country “free from government tyranny.”

The federal government should never be used as a weapon against political opponents. Trump sending immigration agents to our rally in LA last year was a blatant abuse of power. Our democracy is under attack. And every American, regardless of party, should be deeply concerned.
