You are right. Canada so far has not responded to US tariff increases with tariffs of our own. So the rate of inflation has risen far more slowly here than in the US. And in June while the US lost 123,000 jobs, we gained 75,000 jobs. In US terms, that would be about 650,000 jobs gained.

One note is that many of the tariffs were passed on to consumers in higher prices and some were not. The question is whether companies will now lower prices after the refund and removal of some tariffs. Some will, some won’t. That’s why you don’t have a lunatic president causing this chaos

This is a true fact that doesn't get talked about enough. Importers had to pay the tariffs to get their goods through customs. (Not the exporting country!) Raised prices to consumers to cover the cost. Courts ruled tariffs illegal. Importers get refunds, consumers get no refunds.

Also remember it was Democrats that pushed for the tariffs to be overturned knowing it would go straight to corporations but not be distributed back to people. They used you as pawns to fuel the fight while investing in corporations to capitalize on the windfall when tariffs reversed.
