Humanist campaigning against so-called conversion therapy has gone on display, showing decades of political inaction on banning it. Conversion practices, โconversion therapyโ or colloquially โpraying the gay awayโ, are harmful practices aimed at changing who LGBT+ people are or who they love.

I'm now quite a ways into DARWIN AND THE QUEER ORIGINS OF LIFE @rossbrooks.co.uk
Really enjoying it. We've come through a wave of "penguins can be gay!" writing that has left many young people excited about queer biology, but with few real weapons to face the world about it. This book will help!!

Delighted to see the final cover of Queer Under Siege, out May 2027 with Temple University Press. Its bold colours and protest image evoke queer repression and resistance since the 1950s to struggles for freedom today. Thank you, Temple UP!

It's #WorldOctopusDay! Here's an 1861 clipping from the London Illustrated Times of 'A Marine Monster Discovered Near Teneriffe'.
From the description, it's likely that this was a giant squid rather than an octopus, but it's described as a 'giant polypus' by the crew.

So good to see QUEER ORIGINS in my local public library!
I love spotting the different ways that bookshops and libraries categorise the book. Some put it in their science section, others history, others (as here) LGBTQ. All are correct! ๐๐๐ฆ๐๏ธ
