They are undeniably powering ahead with renewables but there is also a flip side as they are currently building over 100GW of coal power plant capacity. Many of these reportedly backed by coal mining linked groups

Moody’s downgraded the U.S.’s credit rating for the first time in history because the Republicans can’t get their fiscal house in order and Trump is playing whack-a-tariff with our biggest trading partners. Are we great yet, America?

I wouldn't be out there if I didn't believe that America can come through this moment, if each of us is prepared to play our role in demanding and delivering a better future.

Canada, meet your new Cabinet. This is a team that is empowered and expected to lead. Together, we will create a new economic and security relationship with the United States and build a stronger economy — the strongest economy in the G7.

Those aren't cops. Those are terrorists. No badges, no ID, no legitimacy. Terrorists.

The Labour gov have allowed wood burning stoves to be permitted in new homes as a secondary heating source in the Future Homes and Buildings Standards. As an air quality scientist, this is appalling news. Smoke from stoves is a growing health hazard. But why did the UK gov make this decision? 🧵

I fear the damage that Tony Blair has done. In the world of so much misinformation and lies about the wider and long term generational benefits of net zero on climate and air quality - Tony has frankly been a complete idiot with these remarks. Could undo so much good work and planning.

Blair is a detestable man, absolutely consumed by greed. He is already extrememly wealthy but continues to strive for more. He is everything that is wrong with humanity where enough is never enough. Nothing seems to be off limits in his money making ventures.

Gélineau advanced the term "narcolepsy" in 1880 while de la Tourette described his eponymous syndrome in 1885. "Autism" was coined by Bleuler in 1911, with full diagnoses soon after. But what do I know? I'm not the Cabinet secretary in charge of the goddamn Department of Health and Human Services.

RFK JR: ADD, ADHD, Tourette syndrome, Narcolepsy, Autism.. All of these are injuries that I never heard of when I was a kid.

In Pope Francis’s last public address, he preached care of the marginalized, the vulnerable, and migrants, saying: “I would like all of us to hope anew and to revive our trust in others, including those who are different than ourselves.” May we heed his wish.

We’ve stopped using ours after installing air to air heat pump. It’s healthier, cleaner and cheaper than burning wood 👌

George Monbiot@georgemonbiot.bsky.social

I'm really sorry, but we just need to stop doing this. Your wood-burning hygge leads directly to people's deaths - other people's and perhaps your own. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines. When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.

The Singapore-on-Thames brigade never admit that 80% of Singapore’s residents live in govt subsidised housing and 30% of Singapore’s residents are migrants. Extrapolate those percentages to UK means 56 million in UK would be living in council housing and 22 million migrants living in UK.

Zipping around on his golf cart, Trump was quick to skip the dignified transfer of four American soldiers who died during a training exercise in Lithuania. Trump elected instead to go golfing and dine with the Saudis. More than 24 hours after the soldiers first went missing, Trump casually…

Donald Trump elected not to attend the dignified transfer of 4 fallen U.S. soldiers at Dover Air Force Base. The soldiers died in Lithuania during a training exercise. Trump was paid millions by the Saudis to attend the LIV Golf dinner in Florida — so he was otherwise occupied. The…

This isn't just donalds doing. The Republicans in Congress own this. They had the ability to stop him and they didn't. This isn't donalds economy, this is the republican economy.

Not just individuals. Honestly I’m annoyed at the tone of press coverage. It’s not a “global trade war” unless we all start imposing tariffs on each other. If it’s just one country, even if it’s the world’s largest economy, it’s still unilateral and after some disruption others will fill the void.

He bankrupted a fucking casino. A casino. Those weren’t just political talking points. It was a reminder that Trump is an incompetent industrial scale bullshit producer and a warning of what was certain to be our fate if we put him in charge.
