A few months ago I did an experiment with using Laravel's Scheduler in an event loop. Today I polished it up and released it as a package! Please let me know what you think! github.com/RVxLab/larav...

Laravel's Scheduler running without cron! It works very similarly to Spatie's package, but uses Revolt instead of ReactPHP and doesn't call schedule:run under the hood. This was a very fun experiment and I'm probably going to release it as a package.

Decided to give my Neovim config a bit of an uplift using vim.pack, I’m blown away by how fast it is. New configs for LSPs and Treesitter, removed some plugins like FixCursorHold. 1.6k lines removed and 600 lines added in total. 32 plugins and load times well below 100ms. Very happy with it!

Turns out someone is using my photo and name in a scam email about Statamic. The email address listed is some dodgy gmail email. This is not me... so please don't engage with them. No idea what I can do about it though.

Introducing Anti Slop 🚫 A GitHub action that detects and automatically closes low-quality and AI slop PRs. As one of the maintainers of Coolify (50K+ stars) we deal with slop PRs daily so I decided to fix it. Early testing showed this action could have closed 98% of slop PRs.

A man from Britain is hunted by a mysterious being, gets a message from an old fart in a castle, tortures people, has a drink, wakes up forgetting everything and goes to find the old guy to kill him.

The amount of awesome things happening in the JS ecosystem right now is nothing short of amazing!

@kevinpowell.co I recently started using the |= CSS attribute selector you showed in your simplified modifier classes short and it’s such an improvement over BEM notation. Thank you for teaching me about it! 😄

Has anyone else been running into a lot of 504 errors when running installing composer packages that aren't cached lately?

This is also the first time since WeakMap was released that I found a use case for it and I’m damn pleased about that.

Today I learned that it’s entirely possible to make PHP extensions in Zig while only using C for the init logic. Hmm… 🤔

Finally after 9 months I was able to get the green light to upgrade to Laravel 12 at work while everyone else is on Christmas break. No meetings, no chat, just code and I love it.

I started self-hosting for partly for this reason.

Dillo is migrating from GitHub. Another open source project made the decision to drop the AI infested/batshit crazy GitHub/Microsoft. We need a movement like the one where people dropped SourceForge back in the day when it started doing nasty things. That will teach them a lesson

Tinkerwell is a fantastic app. If you’re the one Yaz is talking about definitely have a look.

Yaz Jallad@ninjaparade.bsky.social

Hey @laravel.com folks 👋 I want to gift someone a lifetime licence to Beyond Code’s Tinkerwell App! Ideally, I’d love to find someone who’s just getting started or would really benefit but might find it a bit out of reach financially. Who’s in ❤️??

“A LOT faster” is underselling it. The mobile app is absolutely zooming with this update 🚂

Obsidian 1.10 is now available! The mobile app now launches A LOT faster. We've also made many improvements to Bases with new list views, map views, groups, summaries, and APIs to create your own views.

Wayfinder is black fucking magic and it’s everything I ever wanted.

VoidZero@voidzero.dev

Laravel's @joe.codes shows how they use a new Vite plugin, Wayfinder, to perform 'alchemy,' automatically generating TypeScript types and routes from a PHP backend to create a seamless, end-to-end type-safe development experience when building modern applications. Full Video: youtu.be/9ESjWppqNSI

Pro tip for programmers: don't shower at the start of your day. Instead, wait until you're absolutely stuck on a problem. THAT's when you shower - instant presto solution! (Note: do not implement this if you work from an office)

Started looking at Laravel Verbs. I find it to be very similar and not similar to actions at the same time. Not sure if I understand it but it’s really cool!

Hosting my own git forge feels so nice. Full control and having a privately controlled mirror is just awesome. Biggest downside is that collaboration is harder. Oh well 🤷‍♂️

Setting up a Tangled knot is super easy with Docker and Coolify! I was able to create a repo on it too. I did learn today that running 2 Git servers side-by-side while only relying on SSHD is a pain in the ass 😅 I won't be using Tangled anytime soon though, it was a cool experiment though!

PHPacker and Laravel Zero is a match made in heaven From code to native CLI application in less than a minute 🚀

For a while I’ve been using Git to sync my Obsidian vault, today I switched to using Obsidian Sync. And holy cow is it zooming! I’m a happy boy :>
