This is what Sheeran should have done and perhaps would have done if he’d grown up Irish. They have so much more to lose than he does, but immediately made the right call at great professional expense. Support for human rights isn’t a political stance, it just requires intelligence and integrity.

The Irish musicians, Beoga, who play alongside Ed Sheeran, have withdrawn from Sheeran’s tour. This is the statement they published on Instagram:

I'm a white Arab American. Most ppl would never know that's my background by looking at me. The day after 9/11, family friends, who did not know, where at the house and openly talking about how all Arabs and Muslims in the US should be rounded up into camps. I was 12 years old. We were never united.

ICE OUT!!!

Friendly Neighborhood Mouse@missmouse.bsky.social

Friday morning, I was gardening when I checked my phone. A request had gone out for help. For 25+ hours, ICE had been laying siege to a quiet neighborhood in Frederick, MD. Community members were afraid, some didn’t want to leave their homes. ICE vehicles seemed to be lurking on every corner.

So, it looks like Ticketmaster is going to start requiring that you give them your biometric data to purchase concert tickets. As if anyone would trust TM. Also, there are reports the company storing this data for them, Persona, has had security issues and is funded by Peter Thi€l.

I love Olivia Rodrigo. She really seems like the real deal. But I do have to ask, why do I have to give my biometric information to Ticketmaster just to get a ticket to her show?!?! TM has shown repeatedly they are not a company you should trust.

The death toll from catastrophic flooding in Nepal and China passed 1,000 on Tuesday, authorities said, as rescue teams worked to reach communities cut off by the disaster. 3,916 people are missing, including 583 foreigners, Nepal’s disaster agency said.

If you’re a Google Map user in the US, you’ll now see the name “Lake America” instead of “Lake Ontario,” just days after Trump’s order renaming the body of water. Online reactions of outrage are widespread, but Google has long demonstrated little interest in opposing the Trump administration.

Ben Gvir posted this video on twitter today which shows fat and happy Palestinians on a conveyer built going through the Israeli "prison" (torture camp) system and coming out emaciated and maudlin. This is textbook genocidal content.

Bloomberg analyzed seven regional power grids across the country last year and found that wholesale prices near data centers have risen as much as 267% since 2020. Around Washington DC, near the world's largest cluster of data centers, power bills rose about $20 a month last summer.

The footage of the floods is just devastating. I am hoping many of the missing managed to survive. 💔

Absolutely vile framing from the @nytimes.com. Why doesn’t this leave behind hard questions for the media that hounded him? Or the global right-wing that gleefully turned a local matter into an international incident?

Out of curiosity I did this search for Ben-Gvir and Smotrich and let’s be clear, The Telegraph went way harder on Arday than it did on people actively committing war crimes.

This is the coverage of Arday **just in the Telegraph** in the UK. This is only the first four pages of results, just in one outlet.

This is horrifying and insane! This level of coverage is not commensurate with the accusations/story. Not at all.
