i love that the doxxed guy's response is to tell the chatbot "you gotta never do that ever again"

So uhhhhhh… Apparently meta's muse "AI" is just straight up doxxing people to strangers on FB marketplace??? This has the potential to hurt so so many people, and I genuinely wonder how long before they roll out a fix for it.

It's important to note that it's not a short attention span, it's deliberately not being covered because media has been corrupted by fascist money. It's institutional, and deliberate.

Quick reality check: My car's got a ~75 kWh battery. If that battery put out 1 kW of power, it could run for three days. Get a thousand of those and you have a megawatt of power for three days. Get a million of those and you have a gigawatt of power for three days. Hyundai has sold 250,000

An underappreciated point which I think got forgotten from older discourse is that one of the primary reasons ice needs to be shut down and abolished is that they are indistinguishable from random vigilantes. And that is why now we must all act to protect people.

Mozilla has the money to keep the open source Firefox browser going for decades, but instead it's going to burn through its cash on a brainless CEO's high salary and redundant AI development that will fail to compete with anything.

Here is what I've been doing this past week: git.olaren.dev/Olaren/mapto... A little python program that generates poster for cities! You might have seen stuff like this around lately, but I modified it to put an emphasis on rail infrastructure :3

Do you loathe snap packages? me too! I made this little bash script that lets me keep a close eye on them: gist.github.com/saultools/39... (this script does not install or modify anything on your machine - it just reads existing data and advises you on managing it)

Allow me to connect some dots for you: Too much of the world currently relies for its basic functions on resources which must be continuously extracted. You burn that oil one time and oops, now you need more. Geopolitical horrors are, in fact, one of the reasons we need to move to renewables ASAP.

Turned out to be 17 terabytes of uploaded Internet Archive-scanned books to the Internet Archive. We already had them!

I am so inclined to make some sort of metaphorical reference to this,. but it is its own metaphor: Please do not upload books scanned by the Internet Archive to the Internet Archive. A surprising number of people are doing this! You're literally wasting hardware and money at the joint!
