My cart is a wishlist. 50-100 items in there is normal. I check a few things when deciding to purchase, the rest stays put. Some things are in there for years. The new sort method has decimated this method, and I doubt I'm alone. Bezos gonna have to wait on that sixth yacht I guess.

Did Amazon just change the sorting of the shopping cart? I added an item and it appears in the middle of the list instead of at the top. I hate it. It breaks how I remember and plan my shopping.

You can get "Gollum" for $1.45 on Fanatical. Retail was $50. I've never seen such a big discount on a licensed game from such a legendary IP, but that definitely explains the piss poor reviews! But at that price, I am honestly tempted...

Running satisfactory local AI has got to be the biggest tech rabbit hole I've ever gone down. It can always be better and you never stop chasing it. It never stops.

I'm 99% positive this "sign in with your Microsoft account to finish encrypting this device" message on Windows 11 Home is 100% BS, otherwise there would be heavy disk activity in Task Manager immediately after, or during/after the next reboot, but nothing happens other than the message disapearing.

Honestly though, the fact that you supposedly don't get encryption at all without signing in sounds ludicrous even 10 years, let alone today! (I've always had a Pro license on my main PC so have always used bitlocker, this is a secondary one with Home on it.)

I still mostly write code the old fashioned way (cuz I enjoy it 😱), but AI does a lot of bonus stuff that I've come to appreciate. Claude Code has been great, but Claude itself has gone to shit. Enter Zed 1.0, out today! Running w/ local Gemma 4, it's exactly what I needed, exactly right now. πŸ‘

Mac OS X first public release was 25 years ago today. I remember the date well because I graduated college a few days prior. Not an Apple fan anymore, but I was so excited at the time that Mac was finally getting modern OS features & a unix-like backend for real web development. It was a huge deal!

Modern minimalistic design is definitely extremely boring. I miss how beautiful icons used to be!

Here is a video of a frozen creek that had begun to thaw, and the water was flowing beneath the thin ice on top. I took this because it was soothing and wonderfully bloopy and I wanted to listen to it for hours. You are all welcome to enjoy it, too. Let your brain settle here and rest for a moment.

BROOOOOOOOO BUY THIS GAME IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED IT YET, IT'S SO GOOD!

We’re back at full speed for our first free DLC release this month! More details are coming soon, but for now, we can confirm it will bring features many of you have been asking for since launch. Apart from balls, of course. Stay tuned!

I cannot recommend acupressure enough when you have a headache or you're feeling nauseous. Those $20 mats on amazon work great, as does just simple pressure on your wrist tendons. I've only recently discovered these, but what I wouldn't give to have known about them decades ago!

An AI browser whose only feature is detecting the nasty medical pictures you inevitably see whenever you search up even the most innocent medical issue you may be having, & hides them behind a click-to-reveal box with an AI generated description, so you only see them if you ***really*** want to.

Google Finance getting an overhaul after like... 15 years of literally zero updates? I don't know why I find that so funny, but I do! πŸ˜…

Chrome's adblock dying has really just shown how bad ads have gotten now huh This appeared and fullscreened my window, hid my cursor, for clicking on a youtube download link lol old people are just not built to handle this

The lawyers undoubtedly made off like bandits like they always do, but this is the first time I've gotten more than maybe $5 from a class action lawsuit. Next time I'm at the grocery store, I will be able to afford 4 grains of rice, instead of 3.

Imagine being paid to do this 30 years ago. πŸ₯Ή

The Japanese Mario 64 official strategy guide is an incredible thing. "Can we make little hand-made dioramas of all the levels?" "Sure, why the hell not."

Are there any video games with dice-based enemies like this? Could be a fun idea. #gamedev He looks like a creeper with arms though πŸ˜…

Claude helped me figure out that fetch() requests show up in Firefox's network tab only when keepalive is OFF. But WHY?! Chrome shows them no matter what, FF should too! On top of some other weird bugs I've seen recently, it feels like FF is becoming the new MSIE πŸ˜‘πŸ˜£πŸ˜±

WHY DOESNT @firefox.com SHOW FETCH() REQUESTS IN DEVTOOLS NETWORK TAB WHYYYYYYY

Elements inside of an <iframe sandbox> will not send a referrer header, even if iframe is same origin, unless you have "allow-same-origin" set, which... mostly defeats the purpose of a sandbox. This is not documented or discussed *anywhere* online #webdev #protips #yourewelcome

I'm not saying that it shouldn't work this way, I'm just saying that it should be documented. The closest I found was mozilla's docs discussing various scenarios when the "origin" header might have a null value, and it mentioned sandboxed iframes. developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/W...

developer.mozilla.orgOrigin header - HTTP | MDNThe HTTP Origin request header indicates the origin (scheme, hostname, and port) that caused the request. For example, if a user agent needs to request resources included in a page, or fetched by scri...

Origin and referrer are technically different but for all intents and purposes, they are the exact same thing. Seeing this finally confirmed my suspicious, and further testing proved my hypothesis: Elements inside of an <iframe sandbox> will not send a referrer header.

The mobile web is intentionally way more annoying than desktop, because these companies want you to install their apps so they can spy on you. Luckily, ad-blockers on mobile work just as well as desktop and filters out 99% of this garbage. I mostly only install apps if there's no other option.

This is what’s wrong with the mobile web. - massive β€œdownload our app” callout - header taking up a good amount of real estate - ANOTHER DOWNLOAD OUR APP BANNER - fixed ad on the bottom - huge ads in between copy 😠

Just recently got into Soulstone Survivors and the community skins feature is killer! I've never seen that integrated directly into a video game before.

Google announcing the first pixel phone in almost 4 years that doesn't have a gigantic camera bump, on the same day that my pixel 5a, the very last model without a bump, finally dies... that's gotta be a sign it's time to upgrade!

I was honestly considering an iPhone for the first time in quite a while, but I forgot they're eSIM only. Nope! I will never convert.
