“you'll be visited by three spirits" the three spirits:

My October album listening was dominated by artists I saw live at FEST in Gainesville with a few other new ones and favorites

Surprise @perennialtheband.bsky.social appearance at the @ekkoastral.bsky.social Pupstock show in Boston

I am advocating for due process for Kilmar and all immigrants disappeared to El Salvador

This captures the vile, racist lawlessness and cruelty of the Trumpist regime so precisely. Hard to come up with something that is further removed from the nobler aspirations in the country’s history - and more in line with the absolute worst version of what America has been.

Strong rumor with credible sourcing: DOJ has put all of public integrity line attorneys in a room and told them they have an hour for someone to choose who will sign motion to dismiss and if nobody does, they will all be fired. The nastiest strong-arming in DOJ history by a long shot.

AUSA Hagan Scotten, former clerk for John Roberts, really put some mustard on his resignation letter.

Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania has indirect rate of 70%, but they probably didn’t want to list that atop Harvard because defunding a children’s hospital might be perceived as problematic. This is devastating

Sorry if it's cringe or virtue signaling or whatever but unqualified and unconditional love and support to every trans person on earth. You will win and I will help you.

🚨BIG SCOOP: Musk’s DOGE Teen Was Fired By Cybersecurity Firm for Leaking Company Secrets Edward Coristine posted online that he had retained access to the firm’s servers. Now he has access to sensitive government information. 🎁 www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Last minute fork in the road delay. Thanks AFGE!!!

Beyond. Parody.

Okay, let's keep going. Got another one today looking at just how absolutely fucking crazy it is that an inexperienced Musk-lackey is apparently pushing untested live code to America's checkbook. Tried to contextualize all of it. www.techdirt.com/2025/02/05/a...

I can think of at least eight federal laws that have been broken by Musk and his goons over the last few days, and at least two provisions of the U.S. Constitution. They must be stopped. Some thoughts: robertreich.substack.com/p/how-the-mu...

ah cool, an archive of all CDC data before they tampered with it

Hey, the USA seems to be ending but here’s my January 5x5 anyway While you’re at it, fight for trans rights!

The FBI’s core values, including integrity, compassion, fairness, and allegiance to the Constitution - and oh, yeah, diversity, are being painted over at the FBI Academy. Source: NYT.

This comments section is the first time I've felt even a shred of hope in eight days.

So how’s it going so far?

January Ocean check-in - Rockport, Massachusetts at Halibut Point State Park

First song heard by your favorite artist. I missed the ASoB and BTMI era completely and somehow fell in love with the reckless abandon of emotion here (and then cemented that love with a Chris Gethard show appearance and “Worry”)

Ooo! Spacy!

Does exactly 2 minutes count?

November listening 5x5

Not sure if I’m actually at the circus or if this is the inside of my brain trying to distract myself

Then newly-released “Worry” got me through November 2016 (and a live show days after that traumatic election). Let’s try it again Jeff Rosenstock.
