I only had the pleasure of talking with Brendan a handful of times, but on those occassions I really enjoyed his friendliness, humour, and wit. Despite being a force in the Scala community I found him very approachable and down to Earth. He was a fantastic educator, and overall human being.

Every time I get a coffee at Starbucks in Japan I pay with the points card thing — still fondly remembering when the team rolled out that system in 2017 which was #akka based and we had a karaoke night out then 😅 It still works! 🎉
